Forums - Nintendo - Are Hardcore Gamers Buying the Nintendo Wii?

I was skeptical of the Wii at first, then Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Brawl, Metroid came out and I jumped on board. Now I'm skeptical again.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

aww he isn't playing a DS

A....very poorly written article.

I read it all, however, were I a more intelligent man, I would have stopped reading at the point when this person mentioned that he didn't play, and by implication own, a Nintendo DS, yet still managed to claim his anecdotal evidence with regards to Nintendo, and gaming in general, was relevant.

Also, how can you not own a Wii nowadays, honestly? SMG is out for it. It's cheap, and you're a gaming "journalist." How can you not feel a little guilty about not owning a Wii...and how can you not want to throw yourself into traffic for not owning a DS.

Not owning a DS now, is like only owing a Genesis during SNES generation.

It's gotta be Nintendo hate that causes such actions.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I've bought and enjoyed plenty of Wii games. I still don't have much interested in getting a PS3 or Xbox360. And I'm more hyped about Wii Music and Wii Sports Resort than any other new FPS on any system (I still have a huge backlog of FPS to play on PC).

I guess I'm not "hardcore" (owning a Wii, and no PS3/Xbox360), and I really don't care.

Actually Genesis sold more then SNES in USA (if memory serves me).... and i owned both.. Sega had some of the best games of that period and thats why they are still around today..... So a lot of people only had sega.

But at that time i was a REAL HARDCORE nintendo guy so i understand a lil. but i always owned all systems every gen.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Not many, but core gamers buy the Wii.
