Too be fair the tool that they're pushing isn't the general search, when it's a common search it automatically categorizes the data into different tabs on the top right...
Goto Cuil.com and search "Google" and you'll see the tabs. The tabs are pretty "eh" to me, because if iwas looking for google maps, I'm not going to type just "google" I'm going to type "google maps". Most people won't know what brand of map they want and will just type "map"... I don't see how that tab is going to help the average consumer. of course if you type map in, this is the result...

It's perfectly useless because most computer users can barely send an email and string coherent thought along in a thread on a forum. Need proof? Just look at my post history.
(seriously, you need to click on that map link... it's shows why google is the winner.)
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
I think it is a more structered search for those that know about what they are looking for. What I searched was a new term for a technology that has not been around for long and is not yet a commonplace term. Google gave me crap back that didn't make sense. Cuil gave me some helpful feedback that was well structured. In fact the first link I clicked on was pretty much the site I wanted and had to search through google for.
yeah, the page layout is ok, but the returned records are a far cry from what Google has so far. For instance, 'Tucson hair stylist' returned 10k records on Cuil, but over 150k on Google. Plus, Google's first records are a small map with business listed. A very convenient tool.
You guys didn't click the link.
I'll tell you what happens.
Go to Cuil.com and type map.
Nothing happens. Error.
All that Cuil is trying to do is get google to buy it's tabbed search (which is kinda nifty).
It is not a Google killer.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

This smells like money

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.
I never heard of Cuil...
I don't know if it would "kill" Google since everyone in the world knows the Google name...unless Culi is really really advertised...
right ....google too powerful ! hell i have a google toolbar on all my browsers almost .
