Well that's Sony's problem.  You would think any company would have business analysts that would tell them that if you want something to sell well it should be sensibly priced.  But their arrogance made them assume that the 120million people that bought a PS2 would automatically buy a PS3 at any price.  However, it is a vast oversimplification to say Wii cost less, no wonder it sells more.  After all Gamecube was the cheapest console last gen.

You mean 469€, not 699€? 699€ was the launch price and they lowered the price with the introduction of the 40GB model.

Actually no the PS3 isnt trailing behind in comparison, the X360 released a year before and is only 5.5million consoles sold ahead and the Wii being half the price as sold twice as much which is understandable so really its on track.

Price isn't the only deciding factor the Gamecube was cheaper than the PS2 remember.

It's on track for what exactly, last place? It's still trailing behind.

Yea now it costs 479€ here.And after that its been at least powning xbox 360 almoast every week.I cant belive Xbox 360 is still losing though it was released year before ps3 and Wii,and in others Ps3 was launched March if i remember correct and it has (or is gonna) win at ther..
Wii is good console for gamers that use Pc for games and wii for parties and just wanna have fun. Thats the word: Fun.

ps3 might be trailing behind but remeber it was released a year after the 360 in american so its doin good

 

And remember that Wii was launched at the same time as Ps3.

Although costing twice as much it has selled less than half of what Wii has sold so, it is trailing behind Wii also. (This for those who say that Wii isn't nexgen console)

 

also remember, wii is half the price of ps3!
