I am not saying none exists, I am just saying "shooters" have been the dominate style of game from the beginning of gaming. The fact that technology now allows for the presentation to move to 1st or 3rd person is all that has changed.

Games like LBP will still get made, and will still be popular, but the trend for games to move the "window into the game" to first person or over the shoulder will continue.

Kilzone2 is showing they are delivering on their promisses, industry cried it would not look so good untill it was shown and it did and they all had to stfu.

SOCOM 1 and 2 were awesome, and killzone was decent.
Anyways Sony focusing on shooters makes sense. They are trying to capture the American market, and they also do fairly well in Europe. The Wii will likely dominate Japan even if Sony started getting hold of a lot of JRPG's, and most don't do that well outside of Japan.
But considering this isn't even a shooter, I don't see what the big deal is.

 Thats the crazziest thing ive ever heard. Ive had lots of lag on my ps3 while playing every game i played online (mortal kombat 2, call of duty 4 and gt5p) Lag doesnt depend on system but internet connection.

Killzone 2 may look impressive but graphics alone won't do anything for sony. the game has to play better than any other shooter ever made to be noticed at this point...and not to take anything away form killzone 2...but killzone 1 wasnt really a champ.
