It could be a slip of the tongue, or might not be. Anything can happen so resident evil 5 might come to the Wii. It'd be great if it did.

No, you see, Capcom will be announcing Sega's games from now on, like Panzer Dragoon Wii and Toejam and Earl 4 Wii.

This was in Kotaku's news regarding this notice:


"Talking to Capcom's Chris Kramer outside the publisher's E3 meeting room, he seemed genuinely surprised to hear of such a product. We told him that we already knew about the existence of Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop and he suggested that Mr. Jeffery was simply confusing the two products.

As far as a Wii port of the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 title, Kramer asked of us "Have you seen Resident Evil 5?" implying that such a port would be almost impossible, adding that he'd not heard any such product was in the works for Nintendo's platform.

Finally, we followed up with Mr. Jeffery himself who said the mention of Resident Evil 5 for the Wii was just a "simple slip of the tongue."

"We’d been discussing the Res Evil 5 showing at the Microsoft event earlier, and it was still on my brain – that’s all," he wrote in an e-mail."

Obviously he gets confused and make this statement,so don't get your hopes to high,this colud be probably the best thing  looking at how Dead Rising port is looking by now.

Nothing like a pretentious attitude to help brighten up one's day.

It could be a slip of tongue, or perhaps Capcom has another Resident Evil title planned for the Wii and he simply called it the wrong name. Or there is the possibility that RE5 now has a Wii version, but for an announcement that significant, I wouldn't look too closely at what could just be a mistake/

I think its very clear that Re5 will come to the Wii, same for Lost Planet. Capcom earns many dollars with Wii-Re4, they like to get more with a Wii-Re5.

I would think that Capcom would like to fix Dead Rising up first before starting this game.

Remember DMeisterJ, Sega now has Platinum games who feature a roster of former Clover staff who are rumored to be very disgruntled with Capcom, a feud many say is clear in the calous removal of any and all symbols of Clover's involvement in Okami's Wii version.

This slip of the tongue may have been an intentional slight of Capcom on Platinum's part to try and bleed out the impact of any surprise "this game is comming to the Wii" announcement in the future.

That's just my theory though, I have nothing solid to back it up.
