Forums - Nintendo - Why is it that when people say someone they know stop playing their Wii...

Well....I haven't played my Wii in a month or so I think. And I don't have only Wii Sports and Wii Play (actually don't even have Wii Play). So I guess I'm the exception to the rule....woot.

@Torillian

huh? Get Wiiiware, normally I gun for adventure games or something familiar, like FFCC or Toki Tori stuff today I just said "heck, let's try something different." So I bought Pop and that game was hell of fun, I do mean hell of fun, I don't like puzzle games, I hated bust a move I don't favor shooters but this game combined the two and with a ranking board heh, needless to say I downloaded it and made #1 regional in about 30 minutes of play and unlocked about 17 badges. (The game keeps track of others who own the game scores.)

I was shocked and in awe when I logged off the game to do my laundry and saw that I had a message on my Wii saying I had scored number 1 and had a good day. (It was just stating Arc did this and did that) Then asked if I could beat Arc's score.

I am content with this game, granted I'll probably play it once or twice a week.

Yea you don't even race in the Mario Kart American league anymore >.> ....

Wow, the immaturity of people on this board is amazing.. Someone says that their friend stopped playing their Wii and all the fanboys come to the rescue to point fingers and laugh because they couldn't imagine life without it. LOL.. It's funny to me...

Now, I do know people (my parent) who don't really use there's they got it because it was the thing all their friends were doing. But they don't really play it anymore. I have been considering actually getting one recently, I'm just waiting for a game that I really want to play on it. (DS will probably come first in my buying considering the RPG's).

The thread should be changed to why can't people understand that some people don't like the system? Some people are not and never will be gamers. Nintendo accomplished their task of getting the non gamer to buy their system.. But who knows if it actually made these non gamers go and buy the other titles?

Numbers speak for themselves? Well then find me the number of previous non gamers that own a Wii and how many of the software sales are going to them. Because that's about how ridiculous some of these posts have been.

If perferring the PS3 over the 360 makes me a fanboy.. I guess I am guilty..

List of 360 Games I would like to have: Alan Wake

List of PS3 Games I would like to have: LBP, FFXIII(if it ever comes), R2(maybe)

List of Wii Games I would like to have: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (It's not an exclusive but it would be awesome)

lol....it's hard to take the effort to set up my Wii again just to get raped by you guys ^^.  It's like putting candles up in my prison cell or something, alot of effort that just invites pain.

edit: but just because your little carrot eyes made me feel guilty....I'll see if I can't get the thing set up today.

Reason for stoppage 1: Casual gamers don't know other games for their tastes, and therefore get bored with the console and stop.

Reason 2: Wii, as it looks now, is the hardcore gamer's hell - it has only one game that appeals to me, and that's Twilight Princess.

If this keeps up Wii sales are bound to drop.

@Suspense

Heh, yes sir.

non-gamers? You mean people who don't play video games who decided to buy a video game console?

^If that's what you mean then think about it for a bit

An example of a company marketing to non-gamers would be found almost 8 years ago when one company advertised their hardware as "A cheap DvD player."

and not more than two months ago this company did it again buy saying: "The cheapest blu-ray player on the market." Now that is marketing to non-gamers, does it work >.> 120 million sold (117) says maybe. All things being considered prehaps 40 million of the people who bought PS2's bought it for games some would agrue, then those few who would argue that would show Xbox360 sales on games like Halo or GTAIV and draw comparisons to and ratios to GTAIII and Socom or whatever the highest selling shooter is all of course in ltd.

Anyway the one thing that I can agree with you on is that sales speak loudest, oh and that the threads title should probably have been what you suggested. ^_^

Not liking Fire Emblem automatically makes you a causual gamer sorry. There are millions and millions of casual gamers but not so many wanna be hardcore gamers and even less real hardcore gamers.

Zelda games can be more complicated then people who've been playing Zelda games their entire life assume. Same with any game.

That's why Nintendo has said they are going to make a more casual Zelda.

All the guys I know stopped playing with their Wii once they got a girlfriend.

Because she doesn't let me get anytime with it, she's always playing. :(

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
