I know somebody who set up a Japanese PSN and downloaded the demo, he said he liked it. Not only that, it got a good rating (as from an earlier post) so what you said seems a little more likely than it flat out bombing just by looking at the sales numbers.

20k is quite a small order, which would understandably sell out in a number of stores. I think Gears of War did something similar in Japan; a small allotment guarantees a sell out in a lot of areas. Regardless, FolksSoul was supposed to be one of the turnarounds of the PS3 in Japan, and the first day sale looks bleek ...

I'm with DKII on this one. Sony built a multimedia machine. I would estimate that 1/3 of its sales WW are only for watching BR movies. Reason why PS3 hardware is higher-with no game releases- than PS3 software in Japan.

Funny how a Sony game flop thread quickly turns into DS bashing as an outlet for the frustration. I mean, god forbid the Japanese not buy every single game released for the PS3 much ales enjoy lifestyle games on their DS's because of their busy lives on the go. How dare they not support the games you thought would do well.

Who would have thought that overzealous fanboy ideology of labeling every single exclusive game comming out for the PS3 a "system seller" would have resulted in the statistical inevitability of at least a few of those games not being, *gasp*, system sellers.

If the game flops in other regions upon its release then I'd be voicing concern, as of right now all you can do is assume the Japanese didn't like it or it recieved little or no hype.

I'll hold my judgement until I see Everybodys Golf 5's sales numbers, since it is the only thing that will aid the PS3 until FFXIII, IMO. I see it selling, at most, 100k units the first week, but I do not see it moving too many consoles, even with the Bundle with a 'price-cut'
