Maybe Lair..For sure Haze, Heavenly Sword,
Nintendo just live with Miyamoto What if Miyamoto dies?

X360 and PS3 just have so many developpers with so many new games.

Oh a new console from Nintendo what kind of games it will have? Oh a new Zelda, Metroid, 30 kind mario games, star fox, Oh I am surprised;....Sigh..

So sad, frustated fanboys.  The PS3/360 line-up looks great, but could you, in all your dissapointment over the succes of Wii, stick to the fact that there will be great games for Wii as well (beside the traditional Nintendo franchises). Anounced or pretty sure:

FF:CC looks really promising, No More Heroes, Soul Calibur:L, Sadness (hmm if it comes), DQ:S, new Tales of ...(sort of anounced), Fire Emblem X, Batallion Wars, Kid Icarus, Rygar, RE:UC (return of light gun games),

To name a few. And these are all exclusive. And none of those features Mario/Link/Samus/Star Fox.

Okay, that's cool Rocketpig. I think it's this paragraph here:

"I'm not saying that a transition away from cutting-edge tech is a bad thing at all. The intent of my posts are just to show that I expect developers to start treating Japan very differently over the next few years. Since I do enjoy pretty graphics (but only if solid gameplay follows), I hope it doesn't bleed into the NA and EU markets too much. But I don't expect it will since the two markets are large enough to support their own tastes and preferences. "

that I could feel underlying all your other comments. I'm not trying to attack or insult you here; I could just tell, based on tone, that even while you say thatyou respect the preferences of the Japanese gaming market, I detected a hint of... anger, disgust, or fear, and this is probably where it came from. Again, it's not an insult, it's a totally normal reaction. Japanese gaming interests no longer mirror your own, at all, and you're simply worried about how this will affect the quality and number of games that reflect your own preferences.

Does that seem fair? Because there's a reason why people lashed out at you, and I suggested you were being "surprisingly myopic" (I'm not saying they, or I, should have reacted the way we did, I'm just saying there is a reason you got more flack for this post than you have almost any other post on these forums. "That's unfair" or "I strongly disagree" would have been better reactions than calling you an idiot). There was definitely a hint of something bitter in your post, and I've just been trying to figure out what it is.

It's a perfectly natural reaction. When I look at the Japanese market, I ask myself "how is this going to affect MY gaming preferences?". It's a valid question since so many of the games I loved came from Japan.

It doesn't mean I hate the direction they're going or think they're stupid for changing preferences, it's just a very weird transition we're seeing and the overall gaming community is going to be affected by it.

Besides, this is one topic and how it is treated that REALLY bothers me on VGChartz. Just as it's okay to like puzzle and sim games with lesser technical specs, it's perfectly all right to ask for cutting-edge graphics, physics, AI, etc. We all like different games and in many of cases, our tastes bleed into one another (I'm still a sucker for 2D side scrollers, it's the entire reason I bought a DS while I think the MP game is rubbish). Nothing wrong with that. I don't understand why people have to niche themselves constantly. It's as if they're just looking for someone to hate or they're looking to have a feeling of belonging.

There doesn't have to be a line drawn in the sand. Some games I want to showcase stunning graphics. Others, I couldn't care less. The one common theme they need is good gameplay.

Yep, I totally agree with this.

It's one thing if someone says: "Graphics are everything! Your little Wii games are nothing!" which is extreme, but actually does parallel the opinions of some of the people on this board. Those people deserve to get slammed.

However, saying: "I personally care about graphics" is a whole lot different, yet people often treat it in the same manner they treat the trolls that subscribe to the former belief. I'm with you on this one, many people jump the gun on this, and lump anyone who cares even remotely about graphics into the same "raging fanboy" category. Totally unfair.

So I can certainly see where some frustration would come from.

Damm ,those are very bad numbers .But ,from what I understand from y-koron transcript the game has been well received in many stores being sold out so maybe this is a case of software-shortage due to the conservative preorders of the stores and that until the weekend it isnt available in all atores .Maybe this game will do better than what that 7K numbers suggest .

konnichiwa:

I'm not saying you're not allowed to dislike the current Wii line up, of course you are. I'm not so happy with it as well, as here in Europe there's nothing much besides Zelda and Godfather.
But it seems to be a trend to ignore the (potentially) good games that are on its way for Wii and always focus on the Mario-like games (which I don't enjoy either). This is not really fair considering the big leap Nintendo has made already in comparisson to the N64-GameCube era regarding 3rd party support. I seriously think this is just the beginning.
Sure Lair, Haze and Assassins Creed are promising titles and I would like to play those, together with Halo 3, FF, GT5, SC5 and tons of good games for the different systems.
Just please stop with playing the Kiddie/Mario card when it is clear Wii will have good, serious games as well.

You didn't say you didn't like the line-up you said:

"Oh a new console from Nintendo what kind of games it will have? Oh a new Zelda, Metroid, 30 kind mario games, star fox, Oh I am surprised;....Sigh.."

Essentially, you're complaining that Nintendo continues to make games that are popular alongside their new games. On top of that you ignore all of the games being produced by third party developers and simply insult Nintendo. If you said that you didn't like Nintendo made games, or that the line-up on the Wii did not appeal to you that is quite a bit different than what you did say.

True but my gf likes to play on it so I can't complain it is the best way to have freedom, I can do other things and she can play the Wii.  My opinion Wii fun with friends (for me only with GF) to play with.
But the Sp games doesn't satisfy me.

And about this thread if I follow other forums it says that there were only 7.000 Copies.

Given Namco's claim that an average PS3 game requires 500,000 copies sold to break even

Gundam Masou may hit other markets. Of course releasing a title in only one market would also reduce costs. Note that for a publisher it's only important how many they sell to retailers when it comes to actual revenue  generation (future PS3 owners may still purchase titles left in stock at retailers at a later date).

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."
