Forums - Sony - GT5.... coming in 2010?

Unless you have been on the track and driven the car to the limit, I won't try to be a smart ass and say which game has better physics. Car handling physics is a lot different on the track then on the road. I hope people aren't comparing the physics to their daily highway driving.

I don't know how the developers develop Forza.
But in GT, Yamauchi actually travels to the different tracks of the world, testing different cars, getting support from car engineers, individually record engine sounds, etc and make it as realistic as possible.

One of the reasons why Forza isn't on par with GT5 in term of simlulation experience because of the accessory support. With a G25/DFP/DFGT, they take the racing experience to a whole different level. But there's no such hardware support on the X360, all they got is an arcade wheel that doesn't even turn 360 degrees. I don't get how people keep saying Forza has better physics when they don't even have a proper wheel to test on.

If you don't care about driving on the wheel, then you're not really a racing fan anyways.

I really don't understand why these games need five year dev cycles. They can't be that incompetent.

It's because they don't have you in their team, Tommy ;>

OT: I hope that at least they include car damage and they improve the driving physics... it's really needed.

Well then at least it'll be out before God of War 3.. :p

[cut] gt5 [cut (no full stop!)] driving sim . (<- here comes the full stop?...wrong position) [cut]

i can't see any full stop between "gt5" and "driving sim": that must be a mistake ...ask simbin for what a "driving sim" is. Consoles don't have driving sims...good arcade at best.

You obviously missed the announcement that Simbin is coming to XBox 360 with their offerings.  So, consoles are getting great driving sims...

to their credit the GT team puts alot of work and detail in to gran turismo.. watch GT Tv

With all of the work his company is putting into the next console GTinstallment, Yamauchi tells us that it hasn't forgotten the long-delayed Gran Turismo 4 Mobilefor PSP. He confirms that the game - originally announced at E3 2004 - is still actively in development, although it isn't planned for release until after GT5. That would be 2011 for those with pen and calendar in hand.

http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/kazunori-yamauchi-more-prologue-no-gt5-soon-gt-psp-still-comi/

WTF?

Previously they PROMISED it would be out BEFORE GT5 was released - NOT after it!

I just can't believe this... holidays 2010, or later? Good luck... no guarantees the PSP (1) will still be active in 2011...

Ugh, I would warn Neos but Delaystation really is starting to ring true. I really don't understand why these games need five year dev cycles. They can't be that incompetent.

If it's because of content there comes a point when the producers should just say enough is enough, start making cuts now so we can get the game out now and at least break even.  If this thing really does come out in 2010 I really wouldn't be surprised if it too appears on the 360 just in the hopes they can make some kind of profit.

Even though it is first party? That definitely would burn as it is the last HUGE exclusive left from the PS2 era (unless KH is PS3 exclusive but it became even more unlikely with this announcement).

This doesn't mean that new IP's can't get huge (maybe WKC or LBP?) but it is harder to know beforehand and thus to use for system war list spamming.

so FORZA 2 AND FORZA 3 before Grand Turismo...

You are so pathetic SONY...

i laugh at your idiotic mind.

compare forza to gran turismo, without laughing your ass off

Ok, I'll bite. I've got GT5:Prologue and Forza 2 sitting here in my living room. I've played both now quite a bit on a 42" Sharp Aquos 1080P LCD. In terms of graphics, GT5:Prologue, in almost every way, beats Forza 2 in the graphics department. I had to play each quite a bit to appreciate how much better *most* of the graphics are in GT5:P. That said, Forza's physics models for car handling, braking, drift, understeer, oversteer, FWD, AWD, body roll, nosedive, etc., are better than GT5:P. Period. This isn't fanboy rant as I frankly don't give a flying flip either way -- credit goes where credit is due. Forza has crash damage and yes, it isn't real-world, but ANY crash damage is better than NONE and it is pretty cool. I realize GT5 full is supposed to have crash damage and additional improvements in overall physics. But it isn't here yet... All I have to compare TODAY is Forza 2 and GT5. If I could have the best of both worlds, I'd take the graphics engine on GT5 and the physics model of Forza.

Forza 3 better bring it strong (graphically). 1080P 60fps is the standard now.

You can't just say, "Period" and expect us all to go with what you say, its your opinion and has no basis for fact. Here is a thread where the poster says GT5 is better in braking and body roll, they even have videos. http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=101628 The user has played Forza2 for over 200hours. I can also find countless other articles and posts with data and videos to match this statement.

I suppose a website like GTPLANET (THE Gran Turismo Authority) is going to be completely and utterly unbiased. Yeah, OK. I know what I see with my own eyes and how the games respond to the controller. Yep, it's my opinion. Have you put any hours in Forza 2? Rather than go on what others say, maybe you should pick up a copy and play it for a while....

I hate trolls.

i ownder why it would release 5 years after is predeccessor that very late

If you read the forum more and you will find out they are the people who complained about GT series the most.

TBH, most of them are racing fans, instead of GT fanboys.
