Forums - Sony - Why is everyone saying MAG trailer was ingame? - Its 100% CGI

gah.....FJ.....I am in no way saying that what was shown was gameplay, that would be ridiculous. I am saying that it could have been a cutscene done with the in-game engine. two different things. I definitely realize that there won't be any large hand signals in the gameplay, but they could still use the character models and the game engine to make a cutscene with hand signals.

Is not just hand signals or smooth movement, we have seen more effects that right now can't be done on real time, is like the old trailer of Killzone2, the smoke effect, and the huge detailed textures are far better than the actual game, the same goes here, why set up a trouble on those effects if you simply can put elements of the game on a CGI trailer???

all I'll said, Good Luck on the Lag issue!!!! its already super lag with 50 players camping at some notorious monster spot in MMORPG, now imagine 256 players required fast input action on a FPS. I don't care how powerful your system but when you have 256 players from all over the globe fighting at the sametime, you better expect some major lag.

It's not always 256, it's up to 256. Could be twenty, could be 200. And there are no fifty player games on the PS3. Fail?

whats your argument here??  I"m talking about 50 players clustered at a single spot camping for a notorious monster to appear, and you if you have played any MMORPG you'll know its one lag fest at that spot.  I did not say anything about 50 player on ps3.

i expect this to look akin to warhawk but in 1st person mode.

i cant wait for this game, it will be fun playing with so many players.

playstation 3 is now the king of shooters

Was it CGI? Really? If true then it was a pretty poor CGI. I thought it was in-game o.O

GOW 3 & MAC is still a CG movies so expect them to come after 2 or 3 years .... killzone 2 was start as CG movie before 3 years and until now its not released yet ? this is sony dirty CG movies trick.

Is it just me, or is MAG f'ing retarded. First, it's called MAG. Second, all they've shown is CG!

Killzone 2 is different.  Hell, the entirety of E305 was different.  Almost all  the games announced at E305 were barely in pre-production stages.  Sony just threw out some CGI trailers to get hype for the new ps3 (for which not a single devkit had yet been released).    Geurilla didn't actually begin work on Killzone 2 until AFTER the trailer was released, and they didn't being work on the game heavily until they finished working on Killzone: Liberation, six months later.

In reality, Killzone 2 has only been in full development a little under 3 years.  Probably less if you take into account that Killzone: Liberation wasn't released until November 2006.

In comparison, Sony Santa Monica began working on God of War III before God of War II was even finished, and they should be over a year and a half into full production.  Given God of War's traditional 2 year development cycle on the ps2, I wouldn't be surprised if God of War III took 2.5-3 years to develop, thus allowing the game to release just in time for the 2009 holiday season.

Similarly, Zipper hasn't worked on anything since their last Socom for PSP, which released at the end of 2006 (when Killzone: Liberation was released, if you recall).  That would mean that MAG is also over a year and a half into development, and given that Zipper ALSO had a 2 year development cycle on the ps2, MAG could also make it out before the end of 2009.

MAG was in game gebx. Quit trolling.

X360 has nothing besides some watered down multi-platform titles that look better on the PS3. Fall out 3, RE 5 and FF XIII will all look better on the PS3. The power of the Cell is unbelievable. IBM now use Cell technology in their super computers.
