It's hardcore in the same way Mario Kart is hardcore, or Endless Ocean.

I don't think anyone should even insuinate that AC is anything more than a Sims with animals.

it's a casual game with some hardcore elements that you may or may not actually try, lik the stalk market, trying to collect all the fish/bugs/ect.

Its casual by nature (gameplay wise) but it became popular enough to form a core fanbase.

AC really can't be the game we so called "core" fans would be looking forward too??

If yes that's one huge disappointment and that's the first time I have been that by Nintendo.

Man, whoever came up with the idea that Animal Crossing is a hardcore game is fubulously disturbed. :p It just stems from the age before the Wii and DS when the term 'casual' was not yet associated with games so pretty much all videogames were "hardcore"..
