No, Zen.

Winning is about an overall feeling. Microsoft had a poorly paced conference filled with boredom in the middle. Also it had that girl singing "Mercy", which sucked, and a big announcement in the end. Not win.

SO did MS win in 06 when they stole GTA IV? No, we can all agree that Nintendo won that year. So there goes that idea.

I really dont feel like rewatching the entire press conference. Still there were games for the PSN, PSP, and PS3.

 

And please ripoffs like Lips really shouldnt count. Lips is a direct Singstar ripoff and it isnt new either.

 

Because the epic win that was MAG ripped victory from the jaws of defeat and stole the show for Sony.

Even though Microsoft getting FF13 was a huge shock (and it was at first till I realized it's not happening in Japan), Sony's conference actually locked up the PS3 with a better games lineup and movie lineup for the next 2 years. So Sony wins even if they didn't have a SHOCKING *bzzzt* moneyhat announcement.

Get it?

Any one want to trade a PS3 with BC for a 360???

If not for the FFXIII annoucement, Microsofts conference was useless. They didn't show us anything truly new and just confirmed what we already knew about Gears of War 2.

And how many of those were new announcements, again? Just QfB as far as I know. In terms of actual games shown, MS = Sony. Fable 2, BK, VP, Portal XBLA, and GOW2 were huge for 360 players, and will most likely outsell all games you just mentioned.

20 new titles? PS3: GoW3, MAG, Buzz!, DC Online, Rachet and Clank.

They stole the frigging exclusivity of PS3's most important game. You can damage control all you want, but that ALONE is enough to win E3.

That was the most talked/hyped thing. Isn't winning E3 about gaining the most hype?

Yeah, MS got the most hype for a game that won't see the light of day for Years at least.  Sure to really help them in the short run.  A game coming out nowhere in the near future.

SONY pushed boundaries here

- 256 people online in 1 game = HUGE

- Infamous = HUGE

- Video Store tonight = HUGE

- LBP = HUGE

- Resistance 2 = Literally HUGE

 

That's huge but MS teaming up with Netflix wasn't!? I think you're in denial...where is that thread that DMeisterJ made about this?

Shouldn't you add Infamous, God of War 2 and Mag as Sony game announcements too?

I think the best way to explain it is this:

 

Remember when FFXIII was first announced for the PS3?

That was awesome.

 

Well, yesterday, FFXIII was first announced for the 360.

It was awesome.

What compounded the awesomeness is the fact that it was not only completely unexpected, but it actually hurt a lot of the people that 360 owners despise and hate the most on the internet.

It made fanboys cry.

 

If you don't understand why getting FFXIII and making fanboys cry in the same sentence is a great event for an E3 press conference, and possibly the biggest in history, then you're deluding your mind.

Do you really, in all honesty, think MAG is even an infintecimal spec of dust in the wake of the FFXIII announcment as far as 360 only owners/PS3 fanboys go?

If MAG was announced tomorrow as a 360 multiplat, would anybody on the planet really even care? I mean really. Not faux caring.

No, it's about pleasing me and only me.  None of the companies did that so they all fail.
