Forums - Nintendo - What was ur deciding factor in buying a wii?

I wasn't really sure which "next gen" console to get or even to get one at all, but when i saw a mario galaxy clip of the  last level on stage 6 (RIP) I knew i had to get a wii.

So I'm just curious, what was ur deciding factor?

The interface. I wanted to play games differently and after Twilight Princess and Metroid Prime 3 I'm 100% fan

I love Nintendo consoles and Nintendo 1st party games. I bought mine knowing I was going to get good quality Mario game, Zelda, most likely Pikmin and Animal Crossing, Mario Kart and SSBB and others. So that was my deciding factor.

Games. Seeing them play Zelda and demos of Red Steel (which turned out to be crap but laid the hope that a solid FPS was on the way) was huge.

The odd thing was I hadn't read up crazy on the Wii before launch so I didn't know what WiiSports was about completely. Then at launch I heard somebody tell me it was just a crappy demo and I figured i'd toss it right away. Boy was I wrong.

I played Wii Sports first as I was sleepy after waiting in line all night and wanted to rest and savor Zelda while fully alert and man was it fun right off the bat validating my purchase.

cause I bought every Nintendo console since the SNES... and cause I really wanted to try teh controls

Nintendo's games are always amongst the best in each generation, so it was obvious that I would get one. The motion controls made it doubly desriable, especially since I knew then it'd be the best-selling console, which in turn means third parties would start developing for it, so I'd no longer need two consoles.
