not a bad hardware boost for the 360, though
Well it's sad that ps3 hardware sales didn't recieve any boost. And it's really sad that the 360 didn't break 10,000. Now next week with Zelda and Itadaki Street it's looking to be a forgetful week for the console market all together, it doesn't get much better for the DS. escpecially with Dragon Quest around the corner.
If NGS didn't help ps3 hardware despite it being a remake and all I don't think we are going to see Folksoul do much for it either. They need the big guns, and they need them now.
If the 360 goes right back to 2,500 next week for hardware, then I have a hard time believing they are going anywhere in the japanese market. Far too much will depend on Lost Odyessy, and that's unfortunate.
With every passing week the Wii outselling the ps3 by such leaps and bounds even in a week the ps3 has an exciting new title and the Wii has nothing at all new going on, you have to wonder how much the developers are sweating that are designing big budget ps3 games. When FF and MGS launch and have huge drop-offs in sales from their prior titles, there is going to be huge shifts in the industry to where they are allocating their big franchises. That is if these titles fail to turn things around for the ps3, we'll see, it should be interesting. And despite the whole concept that 3rd party games sell worse on a Nintendo system, it's hard to compensate the 7:1 sales ratio.
btw, when are Mario Party and Dragon Quest released?

Simply, it is not sold good. (Shipment was about 70k)
Probably, Trusty Bell is spotlighted on Internet. So many users buy it at first-day. But rating isn't so good...
It was seemed this affected many people's choice whether or not to buy it.
If you need something about Japanese market from the perspective of Japanese, please contact me.

thank you.
Sou desu ne, I've expected that Trusty Bell would sell quite well, considering Famitsu gave it a very good score. On the other hand, only about 400.000 360 owners in Japan... not a real huge fanbase of course.
Dragon Quest Swords released on 12 July!!! Got it bookmarked on my calender ehe... Maro Party 8 will release on July 26th, same as Dewy's Adventure :)
Edit: someone was ahead of me ![]()

Thanks, Y-Koron.
Interesting numbers, I really hoped 360 could kick Sony´s ....this time. Unfortunately it didn´t happen but it is close this week. We should also expect the 360 to stay above 5k for at least one more week now, and with Oblivion and Lost Odyssey in the pipelines I think Microsoft could be able to build up a good library for japanese gamers. It´s not just about quality here, it´s also about quantity. And with every game Microsoft launches over there, japanese gamers will see the 360 is a good piece of hardware.
I expect Lost Odyssey and Oblivion to boost sales up to 10k+ a week - both of them.

I though Famitsu gave Trusty Bell a 35/40?
