I don't think it'll bite them in the ass.

Hey, at least PS3 only owners GET TO PLAY FFXIII, it's different compared to when Square left Nintendo for Sony...the N64 COMPLETELY lost Square support...the PS3 is still getting it.

Thank you.

I was going to say the same thing.

Business is business. Loyalty has little to do with it.

Square left Nintendo in the first place

Though I want to add that Sony is not Nintendo. Sony is established on 3rd party support and of course, SquareEnix.

Nintendo is a great developer; It also helped that they are geniuses when it comes to handhelds... and the fact theat they have (f*N) Pokémon

At the time when Squaresoft left Nintendo I felt that they truly deserved it. They needed to be humbled for their arrogance

  y'all feel meeh~

LMAO, are you surprised that Square is betraying their 'beloved' Sony?

Ever heard of FFVII on the Playstation?

Its like history keeps repeating itself or I am just getting old enough to start seeing repeating trends.

I'm just saying...

Is called money. M$ paid S-E for FFXIII

well money talks

i dont think anyone got paid. the only thing i can think of is SE trying to recur the costs and exapnding thier profile in the west. its a bit of a blow but the game is still out on s3 which is the version i and most people will buy it for, on a single disk also.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Microsoft got a lot of money...

How many topics will you make on this?

Seriously how is this going to bite them in the ass? Are Japanese people going to refuse to buy it because american's might play it on the 360 too? That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. It's a fantastic business decision that on one hand doesn't surprise me in the least, and on the gamer hand shocks me as much as anyone. The PS3 isn't doing that great, the technical bridge between PS3 and 360 isn't that great, the amount of money being poured into this project is great, and the opportunity for larger profits is also great. This I think was a very easy decision for square to make, and I'm not in the least bit convinced that MS had to pay anything for it. Crystal tools was designed for both the 360 and PS3. A port would be very easy.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

What would you choose

  1. Spend $100 Million to develop a game and sell 4 Million copies on the PS3
  2. Spend $100 Million to develop a game, receive $10 to $50 Million from Microsoft for a port, and sell 6 Million copies across both systems

It's not called being a 'Traitor' ... It's called being a business.

Sony could have paid for exclusivity, or they could have produced a system which had more mainstream appeal, but they didn't so Square choose the path which would ensure the highest profits for themself.
