This one is absolutely huge for me. I think I'm in quite a rare group of VGA users (seriously I know of no one else who uses them on the PC monitors lol) with a 16:10 widescreen monitor. The 1440x900 support will be amazing, I cannot wait to play my games at the crisp level of detail they should be. I can only play at 1280x720 or 1360x768 and the image is a little soft and fuzzy because of the non-native resolution of my monitor, this will ensure my games look as they should do.

You do realize that the image will be basically the same?  Either way, it's upscaling a 1280x720 rendered image.  It won't make the image more crisp just because you let the XBox360 upscale the image, unless your monitor has a crappy upscaler.

I hope you weren't referring to Sony hardware because the PS3 is the first hardware they got right. Now outside of the original NES, Nintendo would fit your assertion.

 

I was just speaking in generalities when considering the hardware quality of Japanese electronics compared to those made in the USA. The logic is undeniable.

So basically making the 360 play exactly like PC games. You will have the option to play like regular console (Which I prefer) or download and install the game on your HDD to play like a pc.

meh.

I prefer to grab the game, insert disc, and play. Wii load times are very quick.

This is a very momentous day for Microsoft! I am getting an Elite probably next week and putting my 360 in the living room. Netflix FTW!!!

This is really good news... Copy Lost Odyssey to my drive and no more disk swapping every 5-8 hours...

I need a bigger drive... hopefully you can use USB drives to put the games on and reserve the hard drive for the NetFlix stuff...

Crap! Microsoft did have a lot of good stuff today.

 The ELite is $50 cheaper at amazon though not sure for how long.  I am also getting an elite and giving my pro to my girldfriend.

I believe all NetFlix content will be streamed, just like the service on their web site.

Is this just for Arcade or full 360 games.

If the latter, how will they fit on the hard drive?

Woot! I can't wait!

I also use a PC monitor for my 360.  I've always hated the 16:9 aspect ratio.  I set my monitor to 1:1 so that there is no stretching but I get small borders on the top and bottom.  Now I'll be able to play in full 1680x1050.  I wonder whay they didn't go with 1920x1200 too.  Probable would cause a performance hit.



EMULATION is the past.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E
