I would love to see Breakable DS3 controller idea, the idea you can combine motion sensor AND the old, likable and familiar controller into one is great. No more discussion what control scheme is best for games like SSBB or MK.

The problem here is what was said in 3 other conversations this week - patent infringement. Nintendo holds patents on any controller shaped like a remote control.

So if MS was to do something it'd be more like the Sixaxis than a wiimote

1) This thread isn't anti 360, you assume wrong.

2) It's not weak for Sony to put the rumble back. They didn't have it previously due to legal issues as well as problems with having rumble and motion control at same time. How you tied this to weakness and copying, i have no idea :s

3) Incorporating a DVD player is no big deal. DVD was the main format then for watching films. It was no big deal but not being a fan of something and then rumors going around saying you adopt it after all makes you go back on your words. That is different to incorporating a device from the very beginning.

4) you have taken this thread totally out of context and personally for which i apologise since it wasn't intended in such a way.

5) I do run companies and this is why I wouldn't like to eat my own words or have to result in copying my rival to keep up. let me give you an example below.

If you made a car and i made a car after you did it may be copying but you would have your design and reasoning and I would have mine e.g. you create something like a regular nissan micra. I make a car but mine looks like and is more like a subaru Impreza. Although both are cars, they are totally different. 

However, if you made a Ferrari with a 400bhp engine and suede interior and I slack you off for it and end up doing the same, as a business man it would look very bad on me.

Can you see the difference or are you to upset too see the logic in what is being debated in here? 

A lack of a innovative mind i would say, like always. It's Nintendo that brings great things to console gaming. MS & Sony are just stealing.

Motion controls is where the console market lies right now. It makes sense for MS to give us their version, I am looking forward to it.

It's smart on one hand - at least it theorically allows them to expand their market, and/or differentiat themselves more from the PS3.

On the other it's selling out - It's blantantly abandoning the original direction they were going by ripping the Wii's motion controls. Game support will be spotty since it's a peripheral and only a small % of owners will have it plus they have a huge library of games that'll never support it.

Worse it may give the 360 an image problem. Up to now people knew exactly who the system was aimed at. Now a core gamer might think the PS3 is 'more core' and casual will likely still think 360 is 'too core'.

not entirely true for these reasons:

1) MS innovation caused user friendly OS to be introduced to the world and make PC's far more accessible.

2) Sony were the 1st console I believe to introduce innovative games such as those on the eyetoy, karaoke, buzz games and card games off the future (eye of judgement).

3) Sega were the 1st to create a cd format console as well as have FMV games and 3D games on consoles. They also created those funky memory cards for the DC that had downloadable mini games etc.

Not necessarily a sign of weakness. More a sign of the biggest hypocricy in the world given all the abuse they have leveled at the Wii and Wii remote. Same goes for Sony. Same goes for fanboys of either console who think it's a good idea.

At this point, that's what Ms is doing. They are copying home, next, the Wiimote. What's next, the "Xii" avatars?!

Imo, it's just a sign of desperation on their part, as they can't make their own innovation. (even including Windows or Ms Word on the 360 could be called innovation as that would be the 1st game console people could play games on and do personal work.

But, sadly, no.... They just copy.
