BS or RTS: Should be perfect but you do miss the keyboard.

I think it would get very tiresome for me to constantly point the Wii-mote at the screen, much more so than with a mouse. I think this would be far from perfect...

Well I was more thinking on sitting on my coach with my feet on the table and the Wiimote at the armchair. So no I don't think it will tiresome. BUT I will miss the keybord but I can think of severel ways to improve the controll. To get a RTS or TBS to work on Wii it must be build from the ground for the Wii.

I have a wireless optical mouse, laying back on my chair using the mouse just on my pants works remarkably well. I am glad some PS3 games like Unreal Tournament will have the option to use a mouse and keyboard. I can't imagine playing a game like Sid Meier's Civilization using a Wii-mote instead, luckily Sid seems to be very impressed by the PS3, so hopefully we will some good mouse/keyboard supporting strategy games for the PS3!

Of the topic once again I should say that if Sid Meier makes a PS3 exclusive game that is not available for PC, I am getting a PS3 and probably a wireless mouse if it supports it (but even if it doesnt). Even if it only gets reviews in the mid 30's

i think the Wii-Mote is awesome. If game developers want, they could program the game so it uses the Classic Controller. Not a big deal really....

It is tiresome to point the Wii-mote at the screen constantly.  You use muscles we gamers don't normal use when playing games.  But muscles develop.  Before long, it's not tiresome anymore.

I think a 88 is pretty high. It is higher than Resistance Fall of Man and Tom Clancy's Ghost recon.

Only Eurogamer gave it a mediocre review

In continution of that Resident Evil 4 for Wii http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/residentevil4 just received a perfect 100 from gamespy and its tally has increased to 91. Pretty impressive. Without the Eurogamer review it recieves 94.

Edit:

Since I didn't get the gamecube version before (or the PS2 version) this game is the game I am most interested in.

hey gorgepir, i haven't played RE4 on the cube or ps2 either. i was planning on buying it today but, sadly, i had to send my wii off for repairs.

i guess i'll get the game and finally play it for the first time next week.

I could most probarbly see a way to play Civilization with the Wiimote and I have clocked more hours on that series than I have played all other games I own.

Civ = rocks

Civ w/ Wii-Mote = Rocks harder

I'm glad to see RE4 handle the wii-mote the way ports should. Offer a Wii-mote scheme as well as the alternative choice of using the Trational (virtual console) Controller or Gamecube Controller. That way Gamers aren't forced to use the After-the-fact Wii-mote controls if they don't like them. It would be nice to see more third party developers who are adapting ports for the Wii take this approach.

Even then, who's to say this wouldn't be a good idea for games made specifically for the Wii aswell, offer the traditional controller as an alternative for those who can't stand the Wii-mote. But at this early stage, a dependency on the Wii-mote may be necessary to drive home the point it is needed, giving the option to ignore it (outside of ported games) may create the mentality that it's not needed what-so-ever for the future of gaming.
