That's different... When you say "I'm doing an announcement and it's not X", and then you announce X, you'll look like an ass. It's not the same thing as denying a price cut.

That made me lol, now I'm hoping it is the x-mote just for the comedic value.

I've been hoping for that for some time. It would provide me with hours of entertainment watching gaming forums melt down (especially if Sony also did it), plus I'd have a reason to buy RE5.

but didnt sony say they werent dropping the price on ps3,and then 5 days later announced a price drop?

What's the problem of using a pointer to navigate a menu? It's basically the same thing as using a mouse, fast and easy.

No. The mouse has a couple of advantages your hand is lying on the mouse so you don't have to actively hold a position to remain at the same point. You do not have to search the screen and a mouse is more accurate.

Pointing may be ok for a gaming session but it would be annoying for a long time.

On the other thing the Microsoft interface could use a facelift it looks hideous. The clean, minimalistic look of the XMB with the functionality of the Dashboard would be perfect.

3d dashboard, i highly doubt it.

what would be the install size and what of people who dont have a hd.

the mii copy will certainly be announced, along other things. either way this will be a good e3

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

But who the hell spends a lot of time on menus? The purpose of menus, as far as I'm concerned, is for them to get the hell out of my way as quickly as possible so that I can get to whatever I really want to do.

mouarf.... the PS3 front trying to make us believe their free PSN and marketplace better than XBL and still less users lol and less profit relol.... = uberLOL

now if it's a home like dashboard PLEASE make it optional, and that'd be the lamest thing ever.... unless they want to get the Sony crowed and even though I don't think that'd do the trick.....( i have a secret they do have a brain ;) ).... no but seriously it's funny how useless gimmick or CGI vidz hype up the Sony crowed... when it does exactly the opposite with the MS one... and in the middle you have the ninti guys throwing turtles at both of us lol

@brute: As I said, it's different... Sony was asked about a rumor, in which case companies always deny or say "no comment", especially when it's about a price cut which would make everyone stop buying the console.

In this case, Microsoft actively "announced an announcement", and said it's not about the x-mote. If it is the x-mote, it would be even more ridiculous than Sony's case above. If it was about that and they didn't want to say it, they'd just keep ther mouths shut instead of setting themselves up.

They are completely different, as NJ5 so eloquently spelled out above.

If you are asked if a price cut is coming, you have to deny it, otherwise noone will buy your product until the pricecut actually happens.

In this case they weren't asked, they just made an announcement.

I can't seem to navigate moving the wiimote through the air.  I think it would add too much complexity when trying to navigate a complex menu system like PSN Store or the Marketplace.  Also, I don't think MS would spend the kind of money required to create a 3D dashboard unless it is a service similar to Home.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

I hope it's something better than xmote :/ If I wanted a wii, I'd buy a wii. I'm not expecting anything impressive announcement wise
