I've been hoping for that for some time. It would provide me with hours of entertainment watching gaming forums melt down (especially if Sony also did it), plus I'd have a reason to buy RE5.

They are completely different, as NJ5 so eloquently spelled out above.

If you are asked if a price cut is coming, you have to deny it, otherwise noone will buy your product until the pricecut actually happens.

In this case they weren't asked, they just made an announcement.
