Not a Xbox owner, but I respect Microsoft and I like Windows.

What have Sony or Nintendo ever done to make me respect them any more than Microsoft?

Nothing.

RROD? What console from Nintendo or Sony have gone through such a case of shoddy tech? You must hate reliability, right?

I don't respect Microsoft. I use them for my own purposes, and then I toss them some money. You shouldn't have given it up so easily, Microsoft. Now, I can never respect you.

No.. not really.. its Microsoft

For Nintendo the Virtual Boy and NES Disc System, Sony the early Playstation 1, early Playstation 2 and the biggest one of em all the PSX(so bad that despite plans to launch it in the west and three relaunches in Japan it was never distributed here).

omg...do you pay for xbox live ?

omg...yes

is it fair they charge for that service ?

Yes, they have the right to charge for their service, and I have the right to not pay for it and not use it.

my point is that microsoft charge money for everything and it is very disgusting to me(and they are already rich)

OK, and my point is that if Nintendo and Sony thought they would make more money in the long run by charging you for online, then they would.  They don't give you that because they're nice, they give it to you because they think they'll make more money in the long run by not charging you for online (probably because they'll make more console or game sales).  Trust me, there are far worse things companies do than charge for online services.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

I'm an Xbox 360 fan and I respect Microsoft as a gaming company. Just because they have had shady practices elsewhere shouldn't cloud things up. Sony has done some pretty rotten things outside of gaming but no one really holds it against them in regards to the Playstation brand. Also all three companies have made huge errors in judgment that have directly affected us gamers, so really she should all have your respect or none should. Microsoft cares enough about their gamers' wallets to buy multiplats, timed exclusives, all out exclusives, and a 360 owner is happier for it. What more do you need to ask for?

People are always going look at Microsoft as a whole.Especially now, since their shoddy software has now carried over to their technology. RROD? Sony has always developed grade A technology.

There are other reasons to respect or not respect a corporation other than simply hardware reliability. Everyone that complains on Microsoft's monopoly seems to conveiently forget how Nintendo strong armed third parties into exclusivity contracts in the 1990s. Why do you think almost every third party jumped into Sony's arms the first chance they got? There's also that report that came out last year showing Nintendo's abysmal envionmental practices with disposing of waste. Didn't they score a 1 out of 10 or something?

How about Sony shutting down that internet site Lik Sang or something just because they sold Japanese PSPs to Europeans? Also Sony doesn't always have grade A technology and you would know that if you owned any of their consoles other than the PS3. Both the PSOne and PS2 came with issues, and I don't remember getting any extended warranty when my PS2 laser had to be realigned because Sony allowed third parties to create different weighted DVDs that screwed with the alignment, like blue ones, gold ones and silver ones. How about Sony's inability to reach a conclusion with Immersion, causing them to lie about rumble's exclusion in the Sixaxis, which in the end, put more money in Sony's pocket and pissed off gamer's that now felt they needed controller replacements.

The point is, none of them are shining beacons of honesty and good practices. They all have faults, so either respect them all with their faults, or don't respect any of them. In their gaming divisions I think Microsoft is trying the hardest at getting a great library for 360 owners, by any means necessary. That's all that matters to me is the games, and they've delivered again and again.

yeah i respect microsoft

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

I dont understand why some people care so much about the companies. I mean this as no offense to anyone, it is just something that I dont understand. Even with my most favorite movies, books, games etc. I rarely pay attention to who makes them. A lot of the times I find myself playing games from the same developer and sometimes

I think it would save me time to just see what games this particular developer made and play all of them but I found that a lot of the times developers, writers, directors and others lose their touch after a while and people continue to play their games or read their books or watcher their movies regardless just because it has that author's name on it.

So no I like Xbox360 but I could care less about Microsoft as long as it doesnt affect the 360.
