Call Nintendo and explain the issue. It's better to have a 100% working wii

Maybe he added it when the Wii wasn't plugged in. That would explain quite a bit. OTOH I got added right away.

Send it to Nintendo. They will give you a new Wii. You WILL have the same FC, all of your game saves and friends and miis and pics and channels will still be there!!!!

But you might have to re-download VC/WW/Channels a 2nd time though. but everything will be saved.

I got a universal component cable, compatable with the Wii, 360, and PS3. The Wii and PS3 share the cable (360 is too far away to share), and unless the PS3 is completely off, switch on the back, and all, the Wii is totally silent.
