I havent been a RPG fun, but with games like LO, ME, BD, and next games like this one, IU and last remand, if they are as good or more than LO I will have to say thank you for have a 360.
And that first Screen, just awesome. We have to see more of both games, but SO4 could be as good as FF XIII (or even more, why not).

I can say that M$ is treating rpg fans with tons of respect.

Half-cocked? For starters, SO3 started off looking sci-fi but ended up with the main character crashing on a medeival planet and using swords and guns anyway in typical FF-type scenarios so in a way, its also somewhat of a carbon copy. Secondly, FF is highly respected as a series because it created the JRPG crowd that now exists today. I preferred SMT:DDS & DDS2 to FF12 but they are all excellent games so there's no need to put one down to praise the other.

So when they make one that you don't like, the series becomes overrated regardless of how many people still like it? Its okay to like something else but putting down FF for it is unacceptable. You blame FF because other RPG's copy its style? Its seems to me that they're copying its style because of its appel thus making it an excellent series just like after gears introduce the cover system, it was copied left and right. You're quick to damn FF but ready to praise Star Ocean that you've never played because of two screenshots?

IX is the one that wasn't a true FF in my opinion. It looks like the spin-offs that appear on the nintendo systems. I only endured the art style because it had a decent story and FF was part of the title. Even the trance just sucked compared to limits and limit breaks.

I really don't care personally how many RPGs the 360 gets. Its the fact that people who claim to love JRPGs are quick to condemn the series that defined the genre thats ticking me. The bigger problem is that most of it is driven by console fanboyism.

FF did indeed define the genre and is actually among the best series in the genre but people who are full of themselves say it sucks
