Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Chrono Trigger DS confirmed real

I updated the topic with the American website, which confirms English localization. At worst Europeans can now import it in English from America.

Hopefully S-E will put a new English script that is faithful to the Japanese version.  The original localtzation was decent but some of the story details had to be cut.

Chrono Trigger 3? There was no 2? Chrono Cross had nothing to do with it.

Anyway, just what we need, another kiddie baby's-first-RPG with frogs and robots and a silent protagonist and a bunch of baloney.

Chrono Cross is pretty much CT2. Oh, and let the hating commence (if that wasn't sarcasm :P) :)

You've already established that you haven't played CT, so why would you be so sure CC is a sequel?

It shares no characters. It's in a different universe. And it replaces time travel with a dimensional rift.

I think there's like one little in-joke reference to CT somewhere in the game, kinda like how Cid is in every FF game but they're not related WHATSOEVER.

Also, CC is the easiest crappiest stupidest RPG ever made. You could beat the game with your eyes closed, but you'd die of boredom and self-hatred. The plot is dumb, there are 50001958790175 characters that are all 1-dimensional so you can't care about any of them and basically choose them at random for each battle or stick with the same group for the whole game, and the plot is crap.

Soriku, if you take one thing from this thread, let it be "never ever play Chrono Cross."

You "madam" are full of sh...

It would be great if they included all the extras found in Ps1 version + enchanced gfx's (which i could live without too)

Nothing's cheaper than something free.

F1 vs FOTA, when too much power is in couple peoples hands.

Lolol you kidding right? Chrono Trigger is one of the greatest RPG's of all time. You just made me sick dude.

Mind you he likes Animal Crossing.

He also forgot about the prehistoric cave woman.

This news is great, I just feel bad for those who do not appreciate great games when they are offered to us.

Somewhere in the Squeenix headquarters they probably have a dartboard which helps them decide which franchise to rehash and whore out when they need money.  I guess someone finally hit a bullseye on Chrono Trigger.

He must not have played CT and remembered when Shala was absorbed into Lavos or the fact that when you defeat Lavos in CC you in fact release Shala. Let us also not forget how Kid was found either... hmmm... by Lucca?

Long story short, it rewards greatly when someone actually pays attention when playing a game.

Maybe not a full blown sequel to Chrono Trigger, but the connections are there. It also connects to Radical Dreamers if he took the time to play/read that game.

S-E must have been thinking about doing a CT remake for quite a while.  S-E have stated many times that a remake was a possibility if the demand was great enough and holy crap, it was.  The game managed to go for high prices even though the game is not even rare which shows how great demand was.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
