For the PC/X360 comment, it's rather irrelevant, because it's still a game that I, as a X360 owner, will get over a PS3 or Wii owner. Many many people I know that got 360s did so because it was about $2,000 cheaper than buying a gaming rig and upgrading. In my case, I bought my 360 exclusively for Oblivion, because getting Oblivion would require a new computer for myself.
I know your trying to flame, but it's okay.
It's very simple why the 360 isn't dominating the J-market. There is not enough of a solid base of X360 games to garner consistent sales. The 360 software does VERY well with major games in terms of adoption rate for consumers - Blue Dragon is near 50%, DOA4 is at 25%, ect. Hardware sales for the 360 have nearly doubled since BD, LP, GOW, and Idolmaster came out. But again, it won't reach PS3 or Wii levels because the software isn't there.
However, with all of these games going platform, it's not entirely impossible to think that the 360 could end up selling 2 or 3 million units by 2012. Not great by any means vs. the PS3, or Wii, but still infinately better than MS's first attempt. 360 sales have been increasing. PS3 sales have been decreasing. Look at the numbers. The 360 bottomed out at 2k, and the PS3 kept decreasing for quite some time. It was at 23k right before Gundam Mousou came out, and bottomed out at 8.5k. For the 360, it was under 4k at the same timeframe, and ended up bottoming out just above 2k. That's 65% of a decrease for the PS3, and about 40% for the 360.
Stop trying to use pathetic arguments about the PC. It's like saying that if DQIX came out on DS and Wii, that it meant that the Wii version was useless in argument about strong software/hardware exclusivity.
I'd rather take a library that had 100 console exclusive games, but were on PC, versus 30 system-only titles. Your more apt to get a good variance on titles with the PC/X360 crowd that the system-only titles, as there's less money to develop for just one system. Thanks to the 360, we now have Real Time Strategy games on consoles again. You might not like that, but I do. It saves me from buying a PC for World In Conflict (which is about #2 on my all time need-a-new-PC for game list)
