Its a great game.  I have logged over a 100 hours in it so far.  We have a very nice league here on vgchartz which is open to players of all skill levels.  In general we play almost every saturday.  The vgchartz warhawk league can be found here  http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=21937

As a sidenote the game has rookie servers available so that you can gain some skills before joining the general public.

I like it and I still play it regularly, but I do admit its not for everyone. Dont worry about the game being abandon, theres ALOT of servers with ALOT of people in them

2 expansion packs have been released. Both cost money.  Last time I browsed the warhawk section of the psstore they where bundeled together for 12.99 us/can though that might have changed since then.
