Sakaguchi is an old dog that should learn some new tricks. He cant keep doing exactly the same as 10-12 years ago as long as game desing go.If he does his works can be "good " or even "very good" as Lost Oddysey but never brilliant.Game design keeps evolving and Sakaguchi is frozen in the past.

Sorry totally disagree. FF7 was the last game that Sakaguchi had full control of in FF series. Needless to say it was well above 8-12 in terms of story and gameplay. Lost Odyssey was a brilliant game certainly more emotinal than FF7 and very very similar in gameplay with a few added tweaks(ring system). Blue Dragon was good not great, but the second post of his brings absolute warmth to me. I want the traditional JRPG's not the suedo realtime thingys(they can be good if done right IE not FF12). I couldnt care less if th review media mark traditional JRPG's down for not doing anything new, because that is the very reason I love the genre.

The game was marked down because Lost Odyssey wasn't as polished as it could have been, not because the gameplay was traditional. Dragon Quest VIII couldn't be more traditional in terms of game design yet it got very high reviews on both dies of the Pacific.

All the reviews I read praised the game but said it was to traditional and didnt move forward. LO not polished? It is one of the most polished JRPG's I've played. It certainly has the best storytelling. The story wasnt particular strong but the way it was told was awesome. It's got the most emotional death scene I've seen. And my favorite intro. That intro was obviuosly a homage to 300.

You're totally wrong. New doesn't mean better, look at FFXII.

Among fans it's the most hated after FFX-2.

Also, doing the same thing in design is good with me... As i still enjoy Mario Kart, Zelda, the MistWalker games, the Tales series, the Gran Turismo series, the Ratchet series and more "stale" franchises.

Actually I think it was Final Fantasy 9 (The last Final Fantasy game Sakaguchi made), which was an awesome game. As for FF7 being the best story and gameplay compared to 8-12, I would disagree as well. I think 8 was better in the story department and 9 was better in gameplay.

Actually, the last FF that Sakaguchi had control over was FFV.  After that, he took a step back and gave control of the series to Kitase.  FFX was the last one he was involved with though.

I think  he made the concept behind Final Fantasy 9. Also I think he had a huge control in Final Fantasy 9.

I am referring to the framerate issues and the loading times in the game.  They aren't as bad as critics say they are but still.  The story was standard but the characters, especially Kaim, are very interesting.  The dreams were very well-written too.

I'll have to play it again. From what I remember didnt notice the framerate drop. And loading times they may have been long going between areas but nothing thats not around already.

Ever notice those tiny skips in the cutscenes, that is the framerate dropping.

like I say I dont remember. Must have been not bad for me to not be bothered. But in terms of recognition the game got far less than it deserved.

Only if M$ sell Mistwalker. Or he leaves and creates another company.

Would that project not be SE owned? Maybe they sold it....

Anyway, they are probably working on several games at a time, because they just design the games, the coding is done externally, hopefully LO 2 is one of the ones they are working on
