Great news for Wii fans. Project Origin the sequel to F.E.A.R. is on it’s way to the 360, PS3, Wii, and DS.

“Project Origin is the name we can stand behind since it was picked by the gaming community, and this game marks a new beginning for the franchise,” says Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “With the consoles and the PC, we’re dedicated to add a new game dynamic to the universe and build upon what the players loved about the original game.”

“Our team really enjoyed letting the fans drive the naming process, and we are excited to expand upon the work we began in the original game and establish Project Origin as a premier gaming franchise in its own right,” said Troy Skinner, Producer, Monolith Productions.

The sequel will continue the original game’s spine-tingling supernatural suspense story of an escalating paranormal crisis that threatens to destroy a major American city. At the center of the calamity is the mysterious Alma, whose rage against those who wronged her triggered a chain of events that have spiraled completely out of control. Now that she has free reign, the consequences will be unimaginable.

Fans of F.E.A.R. get their long-awaited true sequel from Monolith Productions in the form of Project Origin. The name may be changed, but the backstory and the world in which it is set remains the same. Set after the events of the previous game, the paranormal goings-on have spread by the time the game opens, now threatening to engulf a major American city. Expect questions to be answered, bullets to be fired and time to be slowed down when Project Origin this fall.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Well it's a really violent shooter. The Wii needs more of this kind of stuff just for the sake of having it. Also, it'll show people that think that dual analog is superior to aim to shoot what's up because they'll be able to do a side by side comparison of the same game now.

So they listened to what gamers wanted on their forums and came up with the name?

They must feel welcomed over there... time to pack my bags and head over to Warner Bros forums.

Whatever happened to not listening to the gamers and just giving them what they actually wanted... I kinda hope this trend of direct gamer input in R&D doesn't kick off- at least not in this way.

Hmm... as much as I love FEAR I'm not particularly psyched.

It's great news the Wii is getting this but...

The two FEAR expansions were quite poor and FEAR is still a very demanding performance benchmark for PC gamers, to even think about getting this on the Wii some serious gimping is gonna be required.

I just finished F.E.A.R.

The game had a lot of love put into it. It was also quite long and fleshed out. I thought the ending was a tad anticlimatic, but I'd still give it an 8.9/10 and it certainly is an excellent game. I highly recommend it.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Actually in the other thread we also thought of this problem, but the wii's ram is far less latent and because of this it is far more faster than pcs that ran fear at the time. This means that the wii is capable of running it probably at the same equivalence of mid-high end pcs at the time. So maybe better than what it looked like on the xbox, but probably not the best it could look like on high end pcs then.
