The Wii will be a bit top heavy in the Plat categotry, it will have 5-6 games(conservatively... WiiPlay, WiiFit, MKWii, SSBB, WiiSport, SMG...) sell 10 million plus, while right now Halo 3 on the 360 looks to be the only game with a shot. (maybe GTA5.... but we'll see)

as far as total million sellers it will be close between the Wii and 360... mainly becasuse the 360 will have a large % of games in the plat cat that sell bewtween 1-2.5 million.



End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Wii >>>>>>> PS3 = 360

The Wii is doing everything the PS2 did and more, which means for the first 3 years of next generation, the Wii will still be accruing million sellers

No doubt its Wii. Even though Wii got less millions compared to 360 now, but Wii got more 5million sellers to 360. 360 titles stop at million, but Wii games go beyond that :)

the Wii...

it has higher software sales every week except 1 or 2, where Wii sales grow faster so software sales start to grow as well!

@Commando: No, theres 1 game missing from the Wii game database, Links Crossbow Training. The game had sold 2 million+ by June approximately, but disappeared from the list. So make that 28.

I highly doubt that the PS3 will ever end up out of last position here. Any multiplat games on the PS3 that sell a million will probably do the same on the 360, and with the huge headstart it's just gonna take more than the next 5 years to catch up.

If the PS3 does pull ahead of the 360, then I believe that.

wii- 25

360- 41

I mean, if those figures are correct, PS3 needs to score 26 unanswered million sellers just to tie. These generations aren't infinite. It takes more than a hardware lead. Just ask the Wii. You can consistantly sell more software, by the assloads, and it's still a pretty lofty goal.

I don't think either console will catch the 360, however, the Wii can shock and amaze. If the PS3 does pass the 360, it it'll be towards the end of the generation, and is many years away.
