xenogears is NOT overrated! It's battle system is way better then that of FF7.. there I said it..

It's way to cliched and a bit predictable,especially in the beginning.

FF7 is definitely overrated. It's my least favorite of the PS1 FFs (IX > VIII > VII). It's not bad but kinda boring.


You like IX the most,people(myself included) who played VII thought IX was meh,and could do this:(VII>VIII>IX).All in all,it's a matter of prefrence.

The plot is suppose to get more interesting as the game goes along.  Many consider it the be among the best plots of a JRPG.  I haven't played it though my brother's friend did and seemed to like it.

I just started it,but from what I've played; I described it pretty well.Hopefully it gets better.
