Forums - Sony - Anyone else think Little Big Planet will sell terribly?

Like many have stated, I think it'll sell very well, not amazing but very very well, million seller by end of it's first month.

But I do know one thing, Sony will advertise this game loads, they seem to be promoting it loads already around the web and have enough faith in it to produce Sackboys as a toy, no doubt there and no doubt they'll get extra promotion from many kids programs and news channels around the world because of the Sackboys and the cuteness and stuff. If they advertise the cuteness, guys not wanting to buy it might just to make the girlfriends happy. (You never know)

If you consider about 1.7 mil well that's fine.  But some people are convinced the game is going to sell 5-10 million and case a big PS3 casual revolution.

 

To clarify my point (in case anybody was wondering) - while I think the game will sell very well, I do not think it will sell many if any systems.  Not single-handedly, anyway.

However, it will draw the eyes of many non-ps3 owners to the system (much like Halo did for the Xbox, only LBP will garner the attention of a much wider demographic).

What the hell are you smoking?? The 360 and PS3 have no liaison with each other in terms of audience.The PS3 has a more casual userbase than the 360 does.Games like LBP will appeal to more PS3 owners than 360 owners.I predict around 500k in Europe and 300k in the US,first week.

I will be very suprised if this dosnt sell well, every PS3 owner i know of is looking forward to this nearly as much as we were MGS4. A suprise hit?, no just a hit.

Everytime we see something new about LBP we see dozens of people excited by this game, ready with the cash in their hands. The journalists are also very excited.

How can you doubt it won't sell well?

I predict lots of sales first week, then slowdown, then word of mouth and people trying it at their friends will make it sell very well again.
