Well, I'll have to wait for 2.40 but assuming everything in it works well, it's pretty even in my eyes.

XBL:
Tons of content
People actually chat with each other in-game
Great online-enabled game selection
XBLA

PSN:
Dedicated servers (fuck you, Microsoft)
Free
Full game purchases on PSN

I still prefer the layout of the Dashboard but the in-game XMB might change that. I really want to play around with it to see how Sony implements it all. I don't give two shits about Home and I really hope Sony doesn't force us to boot into the "game" to use some of the PSN features. I want to get into a game quick and dirty, not jump into a social program to organize a game with friends.

is that really a good thing? The XBL community is still way to young to be talking online. Its like PC was in the first age of voice chat.

Basically what I mean by this is simply to many immature tards whining when they lose or talking themselves up like they are gods.

I just spent an hour looking for a video for PSN cry babies and whiners but found nothing... lol

CS;S has some nubs still but not many. With so many online gamers there are bound to be some 10 year olds whining about something.

I continually hear people bitch and moan about kids on XBL but I never hear them. It's not hard to avoid them if you spend some time buliding up a solid friend list and avoid pubs. It's not even really a problem in Halo 3 IMO.

Besides, I would have have one retard jabbering away (and mute him) while talking to the rest of my team on XBL than hear no one speak at all on PSN.

On top of that, every online game with voice chat has its fair share of retards. XBL is no different than any CS pub or PSN game (when people are talking, that is).

I just dont understand how you dont run into people talking on the PSN... I run to them all the time in Warhawk, Resistance, and a few others. Heck there are some chatter in the Poker game off the PSN.

Dunno, maybe I just have shit luck but no one is ever talking in games I play, whether it's Warhawk or MGO (the two games I have played the most on PSN).

No matter what features are added to PSN Xbox fans will never admit to it being better, they will always argue "XBL has more players and content".

So while 2.4 will be a huge step in the right direction for us PS3 owners, 360ers will still say PSN sucks.

I have both PS3 and XBOX360 and the better online service is definitely Xbox LIve

PSN. Mainly because it's free. But in-game XMB can't come soon enough.

I mean come on, you guys are paying Microsoft to host games on YOUR internet connection. Got to hand it to them though, they know how to get people to pay money, and make them believe they are getting something worthwhile out of it. Gamerscore? Pay me $50 a year, and I'll send you an e-mail every day about how good you are at video games to stroke your ego.

I could care less about gamerscore/trophies. And Home looks like a complete waste of time. I can't imagine why anyone is excited about that. And if you ARE excited about that, why don't you just play Second Life or something.

You should be in PR, Mr. Spinmaster--the reason you don't find "PSN cry babies" is because you barely find "PSN talkers".

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Inversely, no matter what features are added to XBL, PS3 fans will always say PSN is better because it's free.

Fanboyism is a two way street.

Seriously, the notion that people on PSN do not chat is simply not true. I play COD4 all the time and we have to chat to coordinate.

Compare it to XBL, where most people are chatting instead of some people chatting. Just an hour ago, I logged into MGO and saw two people talking... Out of 10 or 12 (didn't count). I still think Sony screwed the pooch by not including a headset with every SKU. It was one of the smarter things MS did with XBL.

i only have a 360 with the gold membership and this is why i don't mind paying.

1) it's cheap
2) it's easy to invite friends to play and chat with people who are playing different games.
3)easy to use friends list

Everything is just easy.

But i think the real difference between xbl and psn is the general framework. Game developers and publishers like to make games on Xbox Live because Microsoft pays for the servers or something.

On PSN the publishers have to pay for there own servers, which is why Metal Gear Online is a bit confusing for people to login to and play.

I might be wrong on some bits there so can someone please confirm this.

well osn is free so it has less content
