Forums - PC - The Political Machine releases today, only $20

Stardock's just released the sequel to their 2004 game, The Political Machine. As a poltical junkie, I sunk hours into the first one, and will definitely be picking this one up, especially with its expanded gameplay options. Besides, I've always wanted to be interviewed by Stephen Colbert's big-headed brother, or run on a platform of galactic conquest and slave pit reforms.

So who else here is interested in this game?

i will probably get it

Games I am looking forward to:

PC: Diablo III, Fallout III, Stacraft 2, Spore, Empire: Total War, American McGee's Grimm

360: Madden 09, Fable 2, Left 4 Dead, Blood Bowl

“Go ask [Blizzard president] Rob Pardo if PC gaming is dead – if he can take the time out from making money hats, I’m sure he’ll give you a really eloquent explanation of why probably the most valuable entertainment franchise of the moment is PC-specific.” - Gabe Newell

Dang--I thought it was a politically-themed Incredible Machine... I want another one of those games

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I wanna buy it

a game that has absolutely 0 appeal to people outside of 1 country. As much as I like US politics, this game should be free online.

It has Stephen Colbert, there's the appeal.

by the way, the game is now being sold from Impulse, the newly launched digital distribution from Stardock, that's supposed to be Steam's biggest rival. (impulsedriven.com)

Actually, this version has a European campaign, (complete with issues like "making fun of the French" and "hating America") as well as another one based on Galactic Civilazations (see the last pic). There's also a second campaign based around the Civil War, but that's also American.

@ thekitchensink: I'd forgotten about that game. It made all the computer classes in middle school bearable. Although it seems like Little Big Planet is (sort of) a game heading in that direction. Now if only I had a PS3...

@pichu_pichu: True. But if you think of it as a more tightly-focused version of Europa Universalis, it becomes easier to wrap your head around. Besides, don't you think it's fun to have a pro-choice, anti-NRA Mike Hucakabee floating around? Now you can!

how can you get this game?
