Well, they gave MGS4 an 8 so compared to that a 7 is justified. However, that is only because their scale actually is 1-10 instead of the usual 4-10 with scores lower than 4 given occassionally. An 8 would be appropriate on the usual scale I think.

MGS4 and MGO should be reviewed as a whole, though. The Orange Box is the closest comparison and almost no one reviewer the games it contained seperately.

Are you implying that Portal and Team Fortress 2, which can be bought seperately, should be treated as the same game?

They can be but they could not be for quite a while, so the answer is yes.

You are wrong. You would be wrong if they had never started to sell the games seperately. That reasoning says that Half-Life 2's scors would need to be retroactively changed because it's now part of the collection - same ewith the Metal Gear Solid franchise and the Essential Collection, or all the Zelda games that are on the Collector's Edition.

The sale of games in a single package does not make them into single games. That's just how they are sold. They are handled by different teams, made with different intents, and deliver radically different experiences only tangentially related to one another, if that.

There's no way to buy MGO and MGS4 seperately, they use the same engine, same graphics, same controls, same locations, same gameplay. The only reason people are reviewing this as a different game is because of the 'starter pack' bullshit which never came to fruition.

Why are they rating MGO as another game if it's pack indisk with MGS4 as a multiplayer mode?
