New Donkey Kong Country, new Super Metroid, new Super Mario Bros... Yes please!

I agree with what some have said, this would be sorta what WiiWare is for. But if the game is good enough release that shit on DVD! 2D castlevania, metroid, or mario would sell bucketloads.

i personaly wouldnt like nintendo to center its game production around 2-d titles, but to bring back some of the classics, and pimp them up with great effects and graphics, that is by all means welcome

I think we'll see some soon, most likely on Wii Ware.. Super Paper Mario was really good and most of it was in 2D.

Oh yeah I know for sure that the Wiimote could be used for some awesome stuff regarding 2D games :P I just can't really think of many, and until I see something that's really awesome I'd kinda just want them re-touched and fully glorified :) I love the fact that all the consoles have an online network to distribute such games, and I'm definitely hoping we get more 2D style games :)

And don't discredit the HD consoles for a simple layout type of game, Super Stardust HD is a top-down simple shooter, but the PS3 hardware makes that game a visual tour-de-France, I'd love to see what it could do for a Side scrolling adventure game :)

I would, I love 2D platforming, and I was very happy when the new 2d wario was announced

I've been playing Kid Icarus throughout the weekend. I'm on the last level. So much win in this game.

After that I was going to buy SMB3 and play it through.

Castlevania 2-d and Megaman for the Wii? That would be great!

I am 100% for 2D platformers on the Wii.
