God of War III? Yummy.

New stuff? Also yummy.

Customization? Very yummy.

Thread analysis? Fairly yummy.

@Starcraft: What the h*ll are you talking about? Darth is not being hypocritical WHATSOEVER.

The first two Banjo games revolved around running, jumping, punching, solving puzzles, and learning new abilities. Nuts and Bolts revolves around building vehicles. Nothing wrong with it, but completely different from its' predecessors.

The first two God of Wars revolved around running around being a badass and beating the ever-loving shit out of wave after wave of heavily-armed enemies, and fighting awe-inspiring bosses. God of War 3 will be the exact same, with a different fighting system. Having multiple characters does not change the formula whatsoever. To use your example, in no way did playing as the Arbiter in Halo 2 change the formula--you were still running aroundwith a bunch of allies, taking out Covenant. What's your point? These things they're adding to GoW3 are refinements.

1. Actually, from what we know about Banjo 3, you still run, jump, punch, solve puzzles and learn new abilities, you just have the added tool of customizable vehicles (in and of themselves a puzzle) to help you do it.

The first two Gods of War had a large focus on story, a character that was defined (both in personality and looks) by that story, and its fighting system. Changing anyone of those (or in this case ALL) is easily as substantial an evolution/refinement.

 1. Yeah, but platforming takes up about 10% of the game, instead of being the big draw.  In the new game, every once in a while there's a platforming section to find a jiggy or a new vehicle piece, but most of the time you're using the vehicles themselves to find these things.

 2. We agree that they're an evolution, not completely changing it up.  So what's your point?

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I must admit, that after reading the first post, all I see is "might", "may", "possible" :-/

The article doesn't say anything about refining the fixed camera. That doesn't bode well.

Free roaming is a good thing though. If say half the game was linear and half was free roaming, that would be very cool.

Your right, it probably wouldn't be announced.

If Microsoft tried to make Perfect Dark 2, they'd be up to their necks in anti-trust suits.

Making Perfect Dark 2 would be illegally anti-competitive.  Noone would by a PS3 or Wii ever again.

Actually, from what we've seen everything involving vehicles will be platforming.  You collect parts to make your vehicles.  You experiment with different customizations to solve puzzles with your vehicles.

As for number 2?  I think both games are an evolution.  But Darth things only God of War 3 is, whilst Banjo 3 is seen as a sacriligious defilement of the originals.
