Very good for DBZ: BL on PS3! I am very surprised it did so well.

Not so good for either 360 game..Japan must *really* not care about the 360 anymore...Unless NG2 will have some sort of good legs (did MS market NG2??). NGSigma sold 23k first day. Eternal Sonata (which was released in a similar time frame) was about 35k first day.

Well I saw this ad for NG2 on the train (and actually at the train station, too).

It's hard to tell that it's advertising NG2. The 3 ppl are holding 360 controllers. Boxart is on the bottom right corner.

I got mine on the first day, so I guess I'm part of that 20k number.

I remember a mod (was it shams ? ) claiming 360 might top PS3 hw sales in Japan this week.. well, doesn't seem likely anymore.

I call this - Ouch.

Probably in Euriope and USA it will do better, but with such sales, i believe, that NGS2 possibility is kinda realistic. =)

PS3 game is selling ok enough.
With 3 mln. PS3 sold i believe, every good enough game will be able to cross 100k mark on first day. =)

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

Well, maybe a PS3 release would have seen better sale results. Only compare the DBZ 360 with the PS3 sales, 7.5 times lower. 1 out of 76.. 360 owners has NG2 bought today... not sure if that is pretty low or not. Ninja Gaiden on the DS sold horrible in Japan, while its an amazing game and typical Japanese *huh*.
