Woo, go Wii!!

Seriously though: A lot of the Wii owners on here do seem to be rather whiny. But I think it's more the fact that Wii games just can't get the "flashy" effect from screenshots like PS3/360 games can. Some developer will announce a game, release a few 1080p screenies, and have every PS3/360 fanboy proclaiming it GotY without even seeing a single gameplay video. Wii owners are just more jaded than that, I suppose.

Erm...

I'm not going to make any more blanket statements about Wii owners, but I'm pretty sure that you have things mixed up.

No. I've seen threads when screencaps are released, and the HD gamers do tend to go nuts over them. Then again, Wii owners do the same, but they don't have as many opportunities to.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Its interesting ...

Right now a lot of publishers are releasing information about their projects because they believe that these projects will not be able to receive much attention at E3; this strategy is pretty common as a way to get people to look into their game at E3. Most of what we have seen for the XBox 360 and PS3 are previously announced games while most of what we have seen for the Wii is new games.

When you compare the game announcments for the Wii from last week to the game announcements this week there is something interesting happening; Ubisoft avoided doing anything which could be considered a quality conventional title for the Wii and decided to develop what many people think of as their most Wii Friendly IP for the HD consoles, while this week most of the game announcements could be considered quality conventional titles for the Wii and Capcom announced a Wii exclusive game which has elements which are reminiscent of Beyond Good and Evil.

Spyborgs has (by far) been the most interesting announcement and had the most unusual reaction by people. As I said before it has elements which seem very similar to Beyond Good and Evil yet many Wii owners who were disapointed by the loss of BG&E (and many HD owners who were 'Excited' about BG&E) dismissed the game because of some of these similarities.

At least people are trying new things and releasing new things.
We shall see what is good, what is bad, and what is ugly.
But we know that they are not Babyiz.

Wii owners (and I am among them) need to realize that their games CANNOT look as good as PS3 and Xbox 360 games. It is a physical impossibility. However, developers must realize that people don't want Wii games that look like PS1 or N64 gamesf (are you listening Ubisoft snowboarding or Midway racing).

More importantly, most players want games that have good game play and solid mechanics. Give Wii owners that and most will stop being whiny. Of course, the ones that won't are usually posting somewhere on the Internet.

The recent announcements -- ranging from new EA controls and modes for sports games to the titles here (and the Puzzle Quest Neopets game which has potential to be this generations Pokemon Puzzle game (or it could be really bad)) have me excited.

Now if Nintendo announces Kirby Wii for Xmas -- all will be right with the world.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

@bobacob: Well, it's quite certain Castlevania is coming to wii, but that's all we know. No info whatsoever on the game. For all we know it could just as well be Castlevania: Photo Play.

SPyborg looks nice..

Rune Factory looks ok.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

@ BengaBenga: Dont you think that castlevania:SNAP would be a good idea?
on rails real time photo takings of dragons and vampires. :P

Edit: whatever happens this wii game will be released in fall 2008 probably in japan so we would have to wait a long time to see it.

Endure. In enduring, grow strong.

@ Rol: well its not exactly wonderbra but atleast its more games that I could see myself and other people that do not want party games actually buying:).

The more of these games that sell and are created the faster the natural progression towards so called 'hardcore' games would be, so its a win win really! unless somebody loses, then its a win lose or possibly a .........

Endure. In enduring, grow strong.

Benga you should add Tenchu 4 on that list to make the flood seem bigger.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !
