Well just settle for a main. Then play as many people as u can. If you lose, ask yorself "what did i do wrong". When u find out what u did wrong, play the person againa nd not make that mistake. Over time you will do this to many characters u face. It will make u better.

Watch videos to SEE how other samus PLAY, ignore who wins and who loses. Watch th videos and see where they mess up and make the corrections accordingly for your own samus.

And honestly, playing samus in melee hasnt really helped. she isnt to good in brawl.
