Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Street Fighter IV will be released in all HD consoles and PC except for Wii

Whats the problem? Virtua Fighter is nothing on a console, you need the big hulking coin munching machine to play it on really

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

Super smash bros. dont have a direct competition with Street Fighter just like Wii Fit dont have to compete with GTA IV. Thats how different the demographics are. Even I surprised that GTA IV didnt stop the Wii and Wii Fit in america.

Probably, but I'd guess the brass at Capcom thinks just the opposite. There is at least some overlap with Street Fighter 4's and Brawl's demographics (both games are played primarily by the male teenagers-young adults), and they don't have to deal with that overlap if they focus on the other systems.

While the same is true with Wii Fit, the product is completely different from GTA4 and aimed at a completely different audience, so that example is a little off IMO.

Isn't Virtua Fighter, Soul Calibur, Mortal KombatvsDC and DOA bigger competition to Street Fighter than Smash Bros is.

I predict a huge flop for Street Fighter 4 on XBOX360 and PS3

How do you figure that?

In that post what you're telling that Super smash bros. was more popular than Street fighter series?!! Because GTA IV still sells even what platform it was released.

I still dunno what 3rd parties to be feared on SSBB, SSBB isnt the end of all fighting games just like tekken, soul calibur and Street Fighter did.

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

@yushire

At the moment, Smash Bros. is easily the bigger and more popular franchise than Street Fighter. I don't really see how SF could be bigger anymore, especially since the last non-crossover fighter released in the series was SF3, IIRC.

Third Parties seem to be really reluctant to compete head-on with Nintendo on a Nintendo system, no matter what - or that's what they say. Personally, I think it's just a convenient excuse to ignore the Wii in favor of the HD systems.

I've never thought SSBB could be that big for a bridge game, and I thought its for non gamers and for casuals, I never thought its as core game as Street Fighter

PS360 and PC will be entirely the same engine and have relatively similar graphics capabilites. They'd have to change a lot of things for the Wii, somehow integrate a motion control system etc.

Huge amount of unnecessary hate in this thread.

Street Fighter, really? This franchise has been dead since that horrible Street Fighter movie came out.
Mortal Kombat performed a fatality on Street Fighter YEARS ago.
God, what is going on with Capcom? Has there been ANY original IP from them besides Zak & Wiki this generation?

Going to rename them to Copycom. If any one company can bleed a franchise faster than Nintendo, its them.

Capcom - adding HD to a dead franchise just makes for a prettier coffin.
