Super smash bros. dont have a direct competition with Street Fighter just like Wii Fit dont have to compete with GTA IV. Thats how different the demographics are. Even I surprised that GTA IV didnt stop the Wii and Wii Fit in america.

Probably, but I'd guess the brass at Capcom thinks just the opposite. There is at least some overlap with Street Fighter 4's and Brawl's demographics (both games are played primarily by the male teenagers-young adults), and they don't have to deal with that overlap if they focus on the other systems.

While the same is true with Wii Fit, the product is completely different from GTA4 and aimed at a completely different audience, so that example is a little off IMO.

In that post what you're telling that Super smash bros. was more popular than Street fighter series?!! Because GTA IV still sells even what platform it was released.

I still dunno what 3rd parties to be feared on SSBB, SSBB isnt the end of all fighting games just like tekken, soul calibur and Street Fighter did.

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out
