^thats the only way they can pass it
It's interesting that TP has almost reached parity with OoT in NA and the EU. I think it's rather sad that more people will experience this arguably bastardized sequel then the classic N64 masterpiece that was OoT.

lol, shut up. OoT sold whaT? 7.5 mil on a 32 mil selling console, it is the best sellign zelda for a reason...first 3D game, and the most mainstream succesful Zelda game. Until Nintendo absolutely revitilise Zelda for a new generation of fans, there won't be anything that surpasses it. And OoT wasn't even launch title..if it was..we would be seeing another 2-3mil for OoT. TP is on 2 platforms...and was a launch title..with just that 1 game to buy. lol

So your reasoning for that it doesn't deserve it, is that it is less likely to make it? While OoT was an amazing game (IMO in the top 3 ever), Zelda was not what it is today. The games had had amazing sales, but Donkey Kong was much bigger, and Zelda didn't have the importance it has today. OoT gave it that importance (I think), and that is what TP is harvesting - at least partly.
Why would you not count both versions? It is virtually the same game, with launch at the same time. Obviously the GCN one took away some Wii sales. The game would also have been better graphically if it wasn't on the GCN, which could have lead to some higher sales.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS
Yes, I think it could. Its still the only must-have adventure series for the Wii and the sales have remained pretty static for about a year.
UPDATE!
The Gamecube version of Twilight Princess is flat. There was no movement or adjustments since I made this thread.
The Wii version, however, had a rough ride since then. It was actually adjusted DOWN, and has since slowly climbed its way back up to the original numbers in the OP and surpassed them. It's currently sitting at 4.99m worldwide sales, putting combined sales of Twilight Princess at 6.55 million copies. It's now only trailing OoT by a little over a million. It still hasn't had a price cut and has the rest of the generation to sell.
I'll probably update these numbers again after New Years.

Don't these games go out of print eventually (even if they are by Nintendo)? At least the GC version of Zelda Twilght princes must have already. Wii version perhaps will be printed for another year (or two) or so, but after that they'll sell the copies they've already shipped and that's it. So I doubt sales of TP will reach Zelda N64.
