Remember; building muscle takes a lot of time and effort, and it is certainly a lot harder than loosing fat. I gain 3-4 kilo's of muscle in a good year with heavy, concentrated and serious weight training.
To build mucle, you need energy surpluss, which in turn leads to a high chance of massing and storing fat. A high protein diet will counter it somewhat, but the risk will still be there.
Don't expect to gain two pounds of muscle without gaining two pounds or more of fat. The magic recipe of gaining muscle mass up to 1-2 kilo's in a few weeks and no fat is purely fictional and should be disregarded.

Losing 4.7 lbs in 4 days going from 211.9 to 207.2? Impressive, but I got you beat :P

I went from 173.1 to 167.8 in three days. That's 5.3 lbs lost, and since I weigh less than you to begin with, that means I lost higher percentages as well. It doesn't help that I ate one turkey sandwich each day for those three days, and limited myself to two cans of pop per day, while exercising for at least an hour.

Oh well. I really don't need to lose weight, but I definitely need to build some muscle. It's a fun game.

If it existed, you could market it and make millions.

You can do it artificially to a degree, but then it becomes an issue of health.

High protein diets are not particularly great for the GI tract or renal system. Eating excessive meat in general is not great for the GI tract. Supplementing with whey protein is generally low risk, but add creatine to the mix for faster results and you run the risk of maintaining a body water percentage below what is healthy. Guys on creatine can keel over during intensive long duration endurance exercises (like ruck marching). Other supplements up to but not including steroids work to various degrees, but there are no magic "muscle builders in a bottle."

I'm not even going to go into the topic of steroid use beyond say that they work well, and that they do so at a heavy price with prolonged use.

With a specifically tailored MS regimen and tailored diet, it is very possible to put on only lean mass, but people generally pay thousands for this type of individual training and coaching.

That explains why Japan's sales have been down, recently. They've been playing Wii Fit so much, that they just disappear. And the fat just melts away.
I'm sorry. I'll try to make more relevant post from now on. I promise. Cross my fingers and hope to die.

but wouldn't that just leave the people who don't have it yet? :P

I lose 5ibs of water every morning, very often along with a 1KG dump :P

I'm going to buy my Mum a Wii and Wii Fit for her birthday.

I think she'd get a blast out of it, she is a health freak.

If your trying to build muscle, why are you only eating one sandwich a day? You need calories.

Eat my friend... eat! :)

@ Mafoo

I kind of enjoy the act of going on a diet; I don't know why. My BMI is at around 22.75 right now, and I'd like to bring it down to 22.00, and then begin muscle-building. The hardest part for me is limiting my soda intake. I can go without food if I have to, but going without Coke or Mountain Dew is too difficult for me. I'm a thirsty person.

I think Wii Fit will make you more aware of your health and that may be contributing to some of your weight losses. But damn so many people here seem to need to lose weight. You all must be a bunch of fatties.

I recently bought a 60lbs weighted vest for training, and (if I can find Wii Fit) I was planning on giving Wii Fit a try with the weighted vest on; I was also considering trying it out using an aerobics stair if I can find one. I could be wrong but I suspect that Wii Fit would be quite a challenge with that much weight added to my body ...

If I'm able to try this I will create a thread describing how well it worked
