Forums - Microsoft - What are the odds that we'll hear what Bungie is up to at E3?

Bungie no longer owns the Oni franchise. It's in EAs or Take Two's hands now, can't remember which.

Personally, I think we'll see a new franchise from them. Something that's not an FPS. Though if they do go the FPS route, I think "Marathon, now starring Master Chief" is the route they will take.

Marathon 2 was released on PC and has since been re-released on XBLA.

Of course, other people might be familiar with it from Aleph One, an open source port of all Marathon scenarios, plus tons of mods, running on the modern PC platform of your choice.

Oh. For what game is that Aleph One-mod? (my browser is behaving strange right now, I can't visit most sites)

A party game for the Wii...or maybe one for the X360 comptable with the X-mote.

It's not a mod, it's a fully capable port of the original Marathon 2 program with all the Marathon ∞ enhancements and some additional enhancements made by open source contributors. Runs on the latest versions of Windows, Mac OS and Linux. The mods I was referring to are various custom levels made for Marathon, some as old as the game itself, and one as new as February of this year.

I guess they´ll develop another First person shooter. But to be honest I´d rather like them to develop something outside that genre. Bungie has some talented developers, maybe they could try to do something new.

Bungie have done more then just FPS in the past, so it would be well within their capacity to utilise another genre again.

well they are supposed to be working on halo chronicles with wingnut and peter jakson aren't they ????

Yeah, i heard about "Halo Chronicles" too... i'm just wondering if Bungie will have anything to do with it and not those guys making Halo Wars.

Isn't Halo Chronicles being done by Wingnut with Peter Jackson?
Halo Wars is the prequel, so I find it unlikely that they will do another game in that period

I hope it's something completely different, like a platformer or an RPG.

Edit:  Scratch the RPG part, there's enough of those on the 360 right now, what it really needs are good platformers.
