Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.

The same comment was made for Lost Odyssey before that one came out but when the game did come out, people said that despite framerate issues, the game was a pleasure to look at and I couldn't agree more

This game looks good. The gameplay looks like FFXII and that is a good thing imo.

Well I am surely going to read/watch the reviews. Could be a super RPG...

The thing is: IU has some great top-tier pedigree, Tri-Ace is trying to break the mold of typical JRPGs, the game has GORGEOUS music, and the game still has 2-3 months to "bake".

Chances are, the graphics will get a bit more upgraded in the next months. Either way, it's going to be a great game.

I'm almost done with Blue Dragon, and once I get my ES and ME playthroughs done, will get LO purchased/beaten hopefully before IU lands...So much JRPG goodness...

i just viewed the latest trailer and i must say that i am highly unimpressed.

And mrstickball I haven't even started my RPG tour on the Xbox 360 yet.

I still need to play: 

1) Enchanted Arms
2) The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
3) Blue Dragon
4) Eternal Sonata
5) Lost Odyssey

Way too many RPG's to get into and I need to start before Infinite Undiscovery and The Last Remnant gets released :D

Probably the same reasons why other people were unimpressed such as unimpressice voice acting, poor lipsyncing and the characters shouting out attack names in battles
