Are you Norwegian? Are this numbers official Sony and Nintendo shipmeant data?

Nice, thanks. :D

Are the numbers till end of April or March? :)

Yes, they are official figures from NSM, the organization for games publishers in Norway.

This is till end of March (Q1).

Q1 was very weak in Norway with no big releases:

(software sales numbers in US dollars):

PS3: $4.3 million (28%)
PC: $2.5 million (-68%)
360*: $2.4 million (91%)
Wii: $2.2 million (63%)
DS: $1.8 million (-23%)
PS2: $1.6 million (-74%)
PSP: $0.44 million (32%)

Total sales last year was $118.8 million, up 18% from 2006 ($100.4 million).

Interesting, thanks.

The N64 did around 160.000 lt sales in Norway and year over year sold as well as the Wii so far. I know from reports that PS3 and Wii have been neck and neck since launch (which is kinda impressive considering PS3 launched 5 months later, remember that when viewing these numbers!) and the 360 was left behind in lt sales last October by both competitors.
The one year lead was eaten up by the Wii in 11 months and by the PS3 in only 6 months. Lifetime estimates place the 360 at roughly 40.000 units in Norway, a whole lot less than Swedish and Danish sales rates (per inhabitant), but it is selling quite a lot better than the x-box, which seemingly moved between 20 and 30.000 lifetime before being killed off.
The most successful consoles in Norway are; PS2, PS1 (roughly 400k), GB Advance, N64 and DS, in that order.
At this rate I expect the 360 to move around 65.000 units lt, and the PS3 edging out the Wii by sometime this year or next (even with Wii Fit, SMG, and Mario Kart driving sales, the much more costly and software-wise inferior PS3 is keeping up, quite a feat if you ask me!).

Wow !! The PS2 did amazingly :o IMO nothing will catch it this gen , especilaly because 2 consoles now fight for #1 :o

Make that 3.5 months. Also Wii was supply constrained beyond the time PS3 was released while PS3 had a huge amount of consoles available for launch, which probably meant PS3 more or less caught up with Wii shortly after launch.

@ koffie

Regardless on supply, it was 4-5 months. PS3 was launched March 23, whereas the Wii was in November I'd December.
