To be brief, I think he's talking about revenge against things like this (and the associated fanboy criticism and strutting which surely happened as Sony owned console gaming in the last two gens):

When you have this kind of bragging in the console world, you're bound to piss off a few people who will want revenge ;)

If you wanna judge a system by sales, like you are the cube and the n64, then apparently you think the Wii is twice as good as the PS3 and 360 combined.


N64 failed by being the last cartridge based console. If it was a CD based console N64 would of done so much better. Cartidges are expensive and have limited storage capacity. CD's storage capcity exceeds cartridge storage capacity and are much cheaper to produce than cartridges


However, it had Goldeneye, Starfox 64, Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, and Mario 64. Those games by themselves stand up against everything on the PS1 except the FF series which admittedly tips the PS1 as the winner for me, however, like I said, it is still debatable. If a person hates RPG's, then the N64 probably wins by miles.

 

The other notable series, imo on the PS1 is the RE series, 1-3, which are all amazing, to this day, even though a lot of people hate on old RE, I was always and still am a huge fan.

 Those games you mentioned were good games but the N64 would of been better if it was in a CD format instead of cartridges. PSX games were cheaper than N64 games for both consumers and manufacturers. N64 abandoning third party support and being totally reliant on first party Nintendo titles was also a huge error.

I don't think so. It's more a revenge for lapsed gamers from the arcade/burst cycle.

Yeah but cartridges have alot smaller loadtimes and are harder to pirate.

I don't know about you, but I don't see GTA IV, Resident Evil 5, Final Fantasy XIII, Call of Duty 4, Metal Gear Solid 4 etc... on the Wii.

They've only managed to get MH:3 which is only popular in Japan.

If anything, Nintendo have accepted defeat and moved on to a different target audience.

Actually, the revenge has jack all to do with the actual consoles or their games.  It's the arroagant industry executives and fanboys who for 14 years never once let up in their quest to ensure we Nintendo fans knew who was dominating.

Go ahead and get kicked in the balls for 14 years then show up with their trophy wife and tell me that isn't revenge.
