That's dishonouring Crazzyman. He has some arguments and backs it up with facts. Don't compare him to you.

Yeah, but Crazzyman is so good at it that he's practically turned it into an art form. Rock_On is nowhere that skilled and there's no one wii60 side that can even touch him, not even JL. Then again, recent online surveys on  sites like SDF have shown that Sony fanboys are better at cherry picking than Nintendo fanboys and MS fanboys combined!

alright now this is where I stop and say bullshit haha. I mean Wii and 360 would need to be almost completely dead for this to even be somewhat plausible haha as these markets have never been as brand dependent as the American market. That means they go buy what's the biggest brand of the time.

"The PS3 is the continuation of the PS2"

You have got to stop spewing that as I have seen you write it in other threads. Yes the PS3 is technically the continuation as in made by the same company and the official successor. But you're implying it'll continue the PS2's success as if it's every Sony console's birthright to be the dominant market leader.

This generation the mass market and casuals are flocking to the Wii even faster than they did to the PS2. They won't suddenly shift next year realizing they bought the wrong console. And even if the economy was in better shape those casuals aren't the type to purchase more than one console. Even by optimistic predictions you can't possibly expect the PS3 to enjoy anywhere near the level of success the PS2 achieved.

You think the PS3 every week will sell more than the DS ever sell in a regular week?

GT5 is the next game that is going to kill the Wii, I thought it was MGS4. It is so hard to keep up.

I think PS3 sales will pick up, but not to 200k a week by 2009 and by 2010 this gen will have been settled (ok, I know it already is settled, but I have to pretend that the fight is going to be interesting).

Since the Wii is just as much the continuation of the GC, what does that mean?

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

This is a parody thread, everyone in it realizes a million is very unlikely.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

ps3 sales WILL pick up (they are doing so already) and will eventually sell massivley worldwide, its only in its second year and some people still write it off lol

going into xmas 2009 it will move collosus amounts for sure, and if a possible £199 price point can be reached at that time, well all i can say theres nothing better for the money.

PS3 sales are not on the rise right now, its been selling at a steady rate pretty much all year with the exception of GTA IV launch week, and it has returned almost completely to normal the following week. There is a very slight uptrend there, but both the PS3 and 360 are experiencing it as of the most recent data.

Whats the average weekly sales for the PS3 so far this year anyway? I mean it is much, much better than last year!

Here is some data you might find interesting, it actually does a good job of explaining why the PS3 has improved but is selling at a steady pace right now nonetheless. First we have data for the lifetime of all three consoles:

WW LTD
  Xbox 360 Playstation 3 Wii
Mean 146k 160k 335k
Median 109k 127k 275k
1st Quartile 83k 79k 235k
IQR 74k 111k 136k
3rd Quartile 157k 190k 371k
Std. Dev. 107k 119k 193k
Min 61k 49k 150k
Max 611k 615k 1,468k

Next we have data for post-holidays:

Post-Holidays '07
  Xbox 360 Playstation 3 Wii
Mean 151k 201k 345k
Median 135k 189k 318k
1st Quartile 128k 178k 273k
IQR 32k 19k 105k
3rd Quartile 160k 196k 378k
Std. Dev. 38k 49k 103k
Min 117k 153k 212k
Max 264k 359k 668k

I will point out that in terms of indicators for the "normal" performance of a console I usually prefer median values. I point this out here because it shows that lifetime the PS3 median was around 127k and the Post-Holiday median is 189k. The PS3 increase happened from October through December. The increase has stopped for now though and the PS3 is simply peforming at a higher sales level than it was last year...it is not however increasing.

Enjoy the tables~
