Anyway, my thoughts on Ridley, as I have stated before:
It's not that they can't shrink Ridley to Bowser-ish size and have it work...I just honestly think it won't be Ridley anymore like that. Bowser has never been the size of a whole room...at least not without him gaining some sort of superpower first...Ridley has been huge after the NES, where every character was pretty much small.
I mean, think about it...would you want a playable Kraid? He would just look goofy fighting face to face with Samus and others...
Ridley's a big guy, and his attacks are based on big claw swipes, fire attacks, etc...it's big, epic moves that make for a good boss, not as much a good playable character. Yes, it could work, but he would no longer be the Ridley we know.
It's taking a T-Rex that we're used to from almost every Metroid game, and shrinking him to a velociraptor. Yeah, he looks the same, but he'll fight differently than he should, and it's just a different character...
And don't bring the Kirby being 8 inches tall argument into it. When Kirby fights enemies in his games, they're usually about the same size as his opponents in Smash Bros, relatively, so it's a stupid argument. It's not the same for Ridley.
I'm not saying it can't work, and honestly, I'd like if Ridley was playable...but you guys don't seem to acknowledge the problems and change of character that would happen.
