Forums - Gaming - 360 RED RING OF DEATH.....& a NINTENDO FANBOY!!!!

Ah, how times have changed.......

I remember not so many years ago when i walked into EB to buy a Gamecube game, can't remember which one, and being treated like someone with a mental illness by the shop assistant. (This is in Australia where the only people who actually bought Gamecubes were me and my mates, Hammo and Shane)

I walked into the store less than a year ago to buy my Wii and was treated the prodigal son returned and applauded for my obvious vision and wisdom for purchasing what was clearly the console as god intended, the Wii.

what's not funny about an x360 demo with a rrod??

I'd probably be laughing too .... not really good for sales

I try not to talk to people in game stores. It always leads to disappointment.

This.

The key to gaming stores is knowing what you want before hand. Sure, it's a lesson of patience and virtue, but over time you'll be a happier and better person for it. Just run in, get that game you want (or other gaming doo-hickie), purchase that item of choice while using as little eye contact as possible (No! I don't want to preorder Wrath of the Lich King...) and high tail it out of there.

Do not be tempted by all of the gizmos and gadgets, they only lead to comments such as "Why am I playing this again?" or "No, I'm not interested in preordering this either!". And if you see someone over the age of 15 enter the store, be prepared for the worst. Chances are that this son-of-a-gun knows what game is best for you and for the rest of human kind, and that game in your hand? Garbage.

Trust me, this is for your own good. We swears.

i have one friend whose a PC fanatic (he's jewish), a PS3 fan or two, and mostly 360 fanboys that are my friends. one has a wii but makes fun of it too.

I Will not lie, I Totally made fun of th PS3 for at LEAST It's first 6 months release.

Can't blame him since we know not about him. Maybe he's just a poor sap who got RRoD'd :(

If my 360 RRinged on me, I'd probably swear about it in public, sure.

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

Oh yeah, everytime i go to my local EB games they always tell me to trade in my 360 for a PS3 saying "Your Xbox will die on you if you play it to much".

I just tell them to get fucked, saying i already have a PS3 and a Wii.

The opposite of what Jessman said tends to happen to me at EB Games, everytime i go in there all i hear is the staff bad mouthing the PS3. When I had purchased mine a few months back they were actually quite rude about it telling me its crap and such, then began almost laughing at me.
I would have left the store to go somewhere else, but im lazy and bought it anyways.

But to anwser the questions Iv heard very little public bashing towards the 360, most if not all has been against the PS3, and Wii.

I've been treated differently by Gamespot employees because of my system of choice. It's the one without the high def graphics. I try not to go in there unless I can't find what I'm looking for anywhere else.
